I am applying for a Visit Visa on the invitation of my son who has Canada PR. While filling out the online form on the IRCC portal, I am a bit confused in the section, "Why do you need a visa?".
I need help in selecting the most appropriate one out of the following two options.


- To visit my grandparent, grandchild, sibling, half-sibling, step-sibling or non-dependent child who is a Canadian citizen, person registered under Canada's Indian Act or permanent resident of Canada

OR

-To visit other family who are not listed above or friends for less than 6 months

Is your son not dependent on you? If so, choose the other option.

He is not dependent and has PR.
Doesn't it fall into the first category?. which is,
