Its time to share my timeline and experience with all the soon to be fellow Canadians. Oh boy! The in-person oath ceremony experience was surreal. I definitely felt heavy at heart and the entire journey from being an international student to where I am today flashed in front of me. Its definitely a journey worth cherishing. I wish each one of you the best for your onward journey. Special thanks to veteran members @hssrp , @maverick1982 , @forw.jane :) Here's my timeline:

Hello Everyone,

I applied for my son's Canadian citizenship born outside Canada in July 2024, and his UCI (Unique Client Identifier) was generated in October 2024.

Could someone guide me on the next steps after the UCI generation? Additionally, what is the usual timeline for processing a minor's citizenship application?

My husband and I plan to travel to Canada in March 2025 with our son. However, since we won’t have proof of his Canadian citizenship by then, what documents will be required for him to travel with us? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Does you son have any other passport? Before you fly he will require a Canadian passport.

Contact consulate/consular section of high commission, you want to apply for a temporary passport. They should - on basis of copies of the application you submitted - issue a temp passport on basis he is presumed to be a citizen.

Do you have any idea how to apply for a temporary passport?

If your absence is more than 2 weeks, it is advisable to inform IRCC via a webform about your absence and the date of your return. Also note that this is more to do with IRCC not scheduling anything for you during your absence and nothing to do with your Physical presence as the days are locked when you signed and submitted the application.
