New Passport after PPR

Hi all,
What happens if I send my new (and old) passport for stamping after getting the PPR?
Does it affect the expiry date of the visa? Do they extend it based on the new passport expiration date? My previous passport was valid only for a few months, and I can see the visa expiration date on the tracker.

if you have the info on tracker for visa expiry date
it will be the same
won't change based on new passport most likely

Just wanted to make an update here.
I submitted both passports and they extended the TRV expiration date until the end of the new passport expiration date. The document number and visa expiration date also got updated in the tracker.

Not sure if this is the common practice with IRCC or not, but it was my experience.

Hi, and thank you for sharing your experience. Could you please let me know if you sent both passports to the office, or just a copy of the old one along with the actual new passport?

Hi,
Yes, you should send both passports. VFS will take both passports and send them to the VO on your behalf.
On the tracker, you can see that the expiration date and the visa number will change after they get your new passport.
