Hi,
Here are my application details:

Type: Online PR Card Renewal with Legal Name Change
Date Submitted: Nov-8, 2024
-> PR portal shows it in Submitted status with the View button disabled.

Unable to find the application using the CAS tool.

I was able to link the application using the IRCC Secure Account and Canadian Interac Signin Partner.

The application status is: "We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you."
Details about your application status
When we get your application, there are a series of steps it may go through before we make a decision. Use the following table to find out the current status of each application step.
Review of eligibility
  • We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results
  • You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes.
Review of additional documents
  • We do not need additional documents.
Interview
  • You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Biometrics
  • We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.
Background check

Final decision
  • Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.
On Dec-31, 2024 the PR card renewal processing time changed to 31 days. Using that number, my application should have been approved.

Should I contact IRCC or wait a few more days since a name change is involved?

Thank you!
Did you get any recent update?

no news is good news.
My husband submitted his application in Nov, 2024 and received the new card on Jan, 2025. No email feedback, no telephone, the mail came in surprise.
So good luck.
Congratulations! So, it’s taking almost two months for the renewal application.

Hello all!
I have a question regarding my wife's PR renewal and Proof of address. Might seem a little weird or a non-issue but please bear with me:

To provide some context - her PR expired in June 2024, left Canada, applied for PRTD and returned with that. Now, she wants to apply for a PR renewal.
Right now, the utility bills have both our names so Proof of address is not an issue. However, we are renewing our mortgage and this time, I will be the sole applicant. Her confusion is:
1. Will her name show up in future utility bills because the name on the mortgage is changing? If her PR renewal application is processed later and the officer wants to verify the address, how will they see that she is in fact at this address if the future utility bills don't show her name?
2. Is this something we can request Elexicon Energy (Ontario) to add to the name on the bill?
3. What other Address Proof can we provide (we only have a temp photo id provided online. Card is yet to come in mail)

Thanks!
what about the bank statement. As I know, bank statement shows the adress, and it is kind of certain adress proof. what confused me is IRCC does not require adress proof.

I submitted for my wife's PR renewal on Dec 03rd 2024. She completed the RO under 'Travelling with Spouse'. The GCKey login says 'Submitted' status. But when I click on the 'Check full application' it shows me the old PR card application which was submitted in 2019.
its more than 35 days, it says just submitted. I didn't any update from them. Will they take more time to process for cases where the resident didn't stay physically in Canada for 730 days?

I hope you added copies of your passport pages showing she was out with you at the same time? if everything correlates it shouldn't take more time unless it needs to be verified externally (maybe CBSA)

I submitted on line pr renewal on June 9th,2024. Did not receive any email or mail. Unable to link with GC key, failed too many time. Using on line checking tool keep showing can not find. Finally got hold with a real person on that 1-888 number, told me still in process. I have travel plan in early Apr. Seven months processing time, what to do

My situation is a bit similar in that I applied on May 26, 2024. I found out my application was under further review after my MP's office contacted IRCC on my behalf. You may consider contacting your local MP too. Also, you may consider ordering your GCMS notes through an access to information and privacy act request (ATIP) to try to get an idea of what's happening (especially from the notes section at the very end). Regarding linking your application, try the following instructions which were sent to me by an agent from the call centre when I couldn't link mine (now it's linked):

Please fill out the IRCC Web form and choose Technical difficulties located in the drop down menu under the heading Enquiry. Please also add the following information:

- Any error messages you received. To do this:
please include screen shots showing the full browser window, including the website address field of the:
page preceding the error, and
error message.
- All the answers provided while trying to link your application. To do this:
once on that page and after entering all your answers, provide us with screen shots.
- The personal information page of your passport.

I think the usual issue is that they miss adding one's city of birth to the application on the GCMS so that causes a discrepancy when attempting to link the application as the city of birth field is mandatory. Consider hinting to that speculation in the webform in order to emphasize your city of birth so they can add it if that's the issue. The client application tool never worked for me.

Today I received an email requesting additional documents by mail such as copies of all pages of my passports, lease agreements, utility bills, and provincial ids. I'm hoping they'll respond soon after they receive them from me. Maybe your application is in a similar track as mine and you'll receive some correspondence (or maybe even your card!) soon. Keep your spirits high, try my humble suggestions, and let's hope for the best together!

Yes I have submitted all the documentation proof showing she was travelling with me and was staying with me. Not sure because of my scenario if there are any additional checks being done. So looking for someone and comment on this....who was in the same situation as mine.
