Be patient, my friend! You're in a good position because your background is already completed.

Btw, the processing time is 7 months, and you're still within that timeframe. Since we're already at the end of 2024,most likely you won't see any updates or movement until January 2025!

Hi everyone, I’m getting worried that my progress is really slow. I did my application in canada but I have had to move to Australia for work for the next 6 months. I was told everything would be sent electronically via email so it would be fine but I’m seeing lots of people moving forward so much faster than mine so I thought I’d ask peoples opinion
  1. Processing Office - unsure where to find this?
  2. App Filed - May 24, 2024
  3. AOR - May 30, 2024
  4. Background - In progress
  5. Test - Completed Oct 3rd

My tracker looks like this - my last update is October 4th.

  6. Language skills - in progress
  7. Physical presence- in progress
  8. Citizen Test - Complete
  9. Background Verification - In Progress
  10. Prohibition- In Progress
  11. Citizen Ceremony - Not Started

  12. Any thoughts on why this is so slow?
The process is 7 months which was updated on the 3rd of December 2024. I would be over that from today.

Which email address you got your test email from? That will help you get the processing office. Did you give the test from outside Canada?

From: "DN MBSK CIT Scheduling / Planification CIT MBSK RN (IRCC)" <IRCC.DNPNTCITScheduling-PlanificationCITPTNRN.IRCC@cic.gc.ca>
I got the AoR from:

Citizenship Official
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
Citizenship Program (Grants)
Case Processing Centre - Sydney
P.O. Box 12000
Sydney NS B1P 7C2

I did the test whist in Canada. It was done remote at home.

Does everything come via email at some point? Should I be worried there contacting me via the mail?

Your processing office is Manitoba Saskatchewan.

There is no mail communication. It's via email. Don't worry about that.

Since your background check is still in progress, it is most likely pending for security clearance from CSIS. Unfortunately, those who are stuck in security check take sometime to clear it due to the huge backlog at CSIS. You can call IRCC and specifically ask if your security check is in-progress or completed. At this point, there is noting much you can do about it other than patiently waiting.

Finally I got a new invite to the ceremony. It's scheduled to January 14, 2025. I haven't received the email, so I don't if it's going to be online or not.
I just got the email that my citizenship ceremony will be In-Person in Saskatoon.
