As people have already noticed H&C processing times have gotten longer and due to the high volume of applications and attempts to reduce temporary residents and PRs this will continue. Will also likely get harder to get approved. Reforms to the program are needed because it has become a catch all for everyone who doesn’t qualify for other programs which was not it’s intended purpose. Was also not meant to process this volume of applications. Think people need to be prepared for a new reality. Also assume quota for this year has been meant which is why many with AIP have not received eCOPR.
I disagree in part. What is happening is that the system is overloaded, both with asylum applications. People do not qualify for humanitarian and compassionate status and still apply. Right now there has been a huge increase in applications. They cannot deny a well-founded case, for example, because if not, the person will appeal to the court, and the officer will have to explain himself. Those who have good reasons, children and a long time in Canada and difficulties returning to their country of origin have a better chance. People want to apply at any cost with less than a year in Canada.

Hello, My brother is physically disabled and completely dependent on my mother, my father passed away last year and now my brother and my mother both are here in Canada, mother on supervise and brother on visitor visa. Can I apply under H&C for my brother and mother both? Please advise and if yes on what grounds?

When you say long time, how many years could be good enough based on that grounds?

I have a question for my friend’s H&C application. He is been here in Canada for almost 7 years and his whole family here. His brother holds citizenship, sister and brother-in-law are permanent residents, parents on supervisa and another sister in UK. He has no family member staying in his home country and he came to Canada at an age of 19. How much chances for approval of his application?

What other H&C consideration can you show, such as establishment in Canada? Keep in mind that your parents are only here temporarily as visitors. What is your current status in Canada? Any chance for PR through an economic immigration program?

Happy new year to everyone, I'm going crazy with all this waiting time, I've sent the requested documents on August 2 for second stage and after that...no update. Nothing. 5 months has passed.
I was less anxious before the AIP, anyone else feeling the same?

I’m in the same boat, sent requested documents on Sep 20, residential address request on Oct 30, they sent me reply to residential request on 15 Nov “ address received and now on file “ and quiet now, wait is killing,

I think the new quota will kick in now hopefully as I have not heard or seen and new portal requests after Nov 15th for H&C

I am in the same boat. I sent the requested documents on Oct 02 and received and responded address confirmation email on Dec 23. Hopefully the process to PR card will complete in this month of Jan 2025, considering new quota for year 2025 may have kicked in now. This waiting game is brutal.

Hopefully...you guys are right about the new quote for this year, it means January will be full of great news for everybody. I'm very anxious to get my PR.
