Thanks Miss Bee. Your efforts in this forum is really helpful to a lot of people.Based on the GCMS notes you received, here’s a detailed analysis of your PR application status:
Summary of Assessments
1. Eligibility: Passed
This indicates that your qualifications, job offer, and other eligibility factors have been successfully verified and meet the program’s requirements.
• Date Passed: October 8, 2024
• Office: Winnipeg IRCC
• Flag: PM01 suggests the eligibility was reviewed under regular protocols and found satisfactory.
2. Security: Not Started
This is typically one of the final steps in processing. Security checks can take variable time as they are often handled by other agencies.
3. HIRV (Human/International Rights Violation): Not mentioned in your notes; likely not applicable.
4. Criminality: Passed
Criminal background checks have been completed and cleared.
5. Medical: Passed
Medical validity is confirmed, which aligns with your prior update on passing medicals in October.
6. Info Sharing: Complete
Information sharing with partner agencies (e.g., RCMP, CSIS, or international partners) has been finalized.
Notes Section
• Note 1 (Eligibility Review):
• Created on October 8, 2024, by Winnipeg IRCC.
• Confirms eligibility is marked as passed, which aligns with the “Eligibility: Passed” status in assessments.
• Note 2 (General Review):
• Created on September 6, 2024, by Windsor IRCC.
• A program assistant reviewed your file and indicated it was ready to finalize as per the note.
• PNP Triage: Select Triage: Suggests that your case was prioritized under a specific workflow for PNP applications.
Your application seems to be in its final stages. Since all major assessments (Eligibility, Criminality, Medical) are passed, the pending steps include:
1. Security Clearance: Still marked as “Not Started.” However, in many cases, it might already be underway without being updated in GCMS.
2. Final Decision: Once security is cleared, your file can move toward final approval.
Next Steps
• Patience with Security Checks: Security clearance timelines are variable. IRCC relies on external agencies, so this step can take some time.
• Monitor Updates: Keep checking the GCKey portal and PR tracker for updates. Sometimes, PR tracker reflects progress not shown in GCMS notes.
• File Transfer: Your application is currently under Ottawa SVO, but notes reference Windsor and Winnipeg IRCC. This indicates collaborative processing across offices.
@Miss bee - sorry to bother you but your advise on this is highly important to me. Kindly shed more light.Hello @Miss bee . I have the IRCC now and the person mentioned the following:
- According to LMIA exempt letter, the person must Educational degree related to the work. The applicant does not provide any educational degree related to this job.
I have a bachelor degree in Computer Science outside Canada and Diploma in Project Management here in Canada but I have been in working in construction industry for almost 10years and this is why I have chosen the NOC related to Construction and got approved. I am not sure if I submitted my bachelor degree or not, however it's not fully related to my work experience in Construction and I didn't see that LMIA exempt letter state this condition.
Kindly advise.
@Miss bee
May I also add that, I work as Project Control Analyst and the most aligned roles is under Construction Manager NOC. As a Project Control Analyst, my degree in Computer Science helped me navigate as the job rely mostly (70%) on software usage and others are coordination, Planning, Scheduling and managing people.
Can I raise a webform and submit this as an explanation or what is your advise please? I explained this when I submitted my OINP application and got approval but did not for work extension.
Thank you for your continuous support.
Update:
While I checked my imm57710e form I found out that I did not listed my Bachelor Degree with the aim that Diploma in Project Management obtained in Canada will be sufficient. I have raised a webform with letter of reconsideration/explanation and attached my degree certificates with WES and received automated receipt.
In the event I didn't receive response from them before the expiration of current work permit by January what should be my next course of action please?
Should I stop working? Should I reapply?
Do I need to contact a lawyer to assist further?
My current nomination certificate already expired.
Hey @andrews17Anyone from July getting AOR?
Receiving a PAL (Pre-Arrival Letter) usually indicates that your eligibility assessment is nearing completion or has been completed positively. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the background check is complete, as these are separate stages. Typically, a PAL suggests progress in your PR application, but background checks, including security and criminality, may still be ongoing.Hi @Miss bee
I had a question, I received PAL on December 11th, does that mean my background or either eligibility is close to completion?
here is my timeline -

Yes you should wait . Portal 1 email takes 2-6 weeks after Final decision so just wait for few more days .@Miss bee , it`s been 2 weeks since my GCKEY is showing final decision, my tracker shows a COPR number, but I never got portal 1 email. Is that normal?
I called them twice without any success, they said I have to wait.
I have submitted on 23rd July and I am still waiting for AOR. I am expecting AOR by last week of Dec or 1st Week of Jan. So yours would take around 02 months (from today) atleast.Has anyone else here submitted in mid-August (around 16th)?
When can we expect to hear back for our AOR?
