Hello everyone, i applied my spousal sponsorship PR application through PR portal online. After i received AOR i created an account on PR tracker to track my application. In the application details my biometric and background verification shows in progress but i haven't received any biometric request in my email.

I tried to link my application to GC key account multiple times but that doesn't show anh application in system at all. Is PR tracker is all i am getting updates throughout or linking it to GC key account is mandatory?

No, you need to link your application to GC key as IRCC will communicate through GCKey. One thing you need to know in the process of linking applications is, they ask you about number of applicants. You must write 2 even if you are the only one as principal applicant. That is how it will trace your application.

For Biometric, I got email from IRCC. But in my case I got Biometric first, I have not received AOR yet.
how long did it take to get AOR? When did you apply your application?

are you able to link your application to GC key account by any chance?
Yes..
Login to your GCkey account and use your application number and UCI with passport details to link your application.
Also, select 2 in number of applicants, even if you are the only applicant in the PR application.

I have been trying to do it since laat 3 weeks but no luck. I tried all the options to search my file but everytime it says no match found. Although, i was putting no.of applicants as 1 . Let me try again putting it as 2 applicants and see what happens

Ontario
Updates must be moving in quick now because I think I have another update.
We just got an email letter that says the following:

I'm guessing this is the AIP?
Since we're in Ontario, we should be able to go get OHIP with this letter, correct?

Letter mentions that Case Processing Centre is Mississauga.

We also applied for a TRV which got turned around in 1 week for the passport request, and the recent 2 updates on the PR application just happened after that.

Updated timeline:
  • Application Submitted: September 30, 2024
  • AOR: October 29, 2024
  • Pre-arrival services Letter: November 23, 204
  • AIP (?): November 25, 2024
Just wanted to provide an update on getting a health card if anyone else is wondering.
I brought the letter, wife's passport, PGWP and driver's license to Service Ontario and asked for a health card application.
At first they were confused if she would actually be eligible for OHIP. After some going back and forth and the staff consulting among themselves, they found out that yes, indeed you qualify for OHIP with the AIP.
However the validity is only for 1 year from the day you apply.
They will issue a proper OHIP card but not sure when that's going to come with the ongoing Canada Post strike.
