If the test letter states it that's all the confirmation you need unfortunately.

You may need to borrow a laptop, go to a library etc. We had to borrow a PC and webcam.

Do we need to book for citizenship exam or just click on the link and take the exam whenever we feel we are ready? I see that there is a link in the email that they sent which says just click on the link when you are ready to take a test. Does that mean there is no booking of a slot for the exam?

Just click on the link when you are ready .. obviously it should be between the dates mentioned but you can take at anytime during the day

Yea, anytime within the window. I believe you get 45 minutes to finish it once started and you have three attempts.

Hello, Did you get the test email first in your inbox before the background check completed on the tracker ?

I gave my test on 23rd and cleared it. I’m very worried about the quality of the photo of my ID.

Application filed - Sep 19th
Activity status updated - Citizenship Test: Nov 6th (In progress)
Activity status updated - Background verification: Nov 8th (Completed)

Question: In my tracker‘s “Your next steps” it still shows as ‘Take the citizenship test’. Is this normal?
Citizenship test given - Nov 23rd
Activity status updated - Citizenship test complete: Nov 29th

My Saga of Citizenship: The Official Timeline
  1. Application Submission: Sep 27, 2024
I officially tossed my hat (and passport) into the ring. Let’s see if this maple syrup obsession pays off.
  2. Test Request: Nov 18, 2024
The phone rings, and it’s my time to shine. “Time to prove I know more than just poutine and hockey!”
  3. Background Verification Complete: Nov 22, 2024
They’ve checked my background—no surprise, no criminal record! I’m clean as a fresh snowfall.
  4. Test Given: Nov 26, 2024
Cue the nervous sweating. Can I remember the names of all 10 provinces without Googling? Spoiler alert: I nailed it!
  5. Citizenship Test Completed: Nov 29, 2024
Done and dusted! I passed, and now I’m practically a walking, talking maple leaf.
Processing Office: Niagara Falls
Where the paperwork flows as fast as the falls themselves… which is to say, slowly but majestically.

Total Physical Presence: 1178
1178 days spent getting cozy with the Canadian soil. I’ve practically got maple syrup running through my veins by now.

Cheers!

Just checking if I’m one of the only one who got AOR later in September (27 Sept) who hasn’t received a test invite yet? It would be interesting to know in what order they process applications

I have an AOR shortly after yours (application submitted Sept 24, AOR Oct 4) and no test invite received yet. I did get two ghost updates last week (Nov 26 & 27) but no other info since AOR.
