So, in Background checking there's 3 steps: Criminality, Info Sharing and Security screening. Security screening is the most important step as it is where cbsa could step in. Once the Eligibility completed, it will kick start Security screening. If your Background checking is complete, that means you already passed the eligibility stage. So this means whatever on your tracker is probably a glitch. Don't fret.
I just got a ghost update this morning in my tracker. Now it is showing eligibility as completed for the principal applicant (PA) but not started for the dependent. Is it safe to assume that they are done with thee eligibility part for both since, their focus is more on the PA. We did claim a few points for dependent's education and work experience. Background is still in progress for both since September 27. However, few people got their eCOPRs with the dependent's eligibility showing as not started. I just hope we are close. Any insight is appreciated. Also, tracker is showing that they received information on October 10 and will let us know if they need anything else. But we didn't send them anything else. Is this normal?

Its probably about your security screening (part of Background checking). It will be the last part of their analysis.

Thanks for the response. I know every case is different, but can it be assumed that the eligibility confirmation for PA's eligibility means that we might be at the very last stages of the process (i.e., security screening which is usually the last part for most applications).

You are on the right track. They show eligibility completed only for PA.
Can you see a date in front of your Final Decision?

"Also, tracker is showing that they received information on October 10 and will let us know if they need anything else"

This happens when you get a date in front of FD

Another trick you can do is that, when you get a ghost update, call IRCC and when you reach the part where the automated voice reads out your application status; if they just tell your application submission date and then instead of telling other details (as usual), they send you to an agent or they say their office is closed(during non working hours). That means your final decision has been made.

And the tracker updates only once a day, So the next day you should see the completed status in the tracker and a date in front of Final Decision.

Thanks a ton for the response. Is it safe to assume that we (PA + dependent) passed the eligibility? I used an immigration consultant, so, don't have access to the GCkey. Currently awaiting response regarding the date in front of the FD. Really hoping for some positive news soon!

Congrats. How will we receive the eCoPR? Will it be sent as an email with a document attached like the P1 email, or will it be an email with a document in GCKey like Biometric Instructions Letter, or through an email directing us to the PR process portal?
You will receive PR confirmation email from IRCC and then you can login into your PR portal and download your ecopr.

I would recommend emailing back on your P1 email and raise a web form if you haven't received your ECOPR yet. I got mine with this approach.

Thank you very much. I’m still waiting for the P2 email. Once I receive it, I’ll try this approach if it takes longer for the eCoPR.

Hey Guys

can someone please send me the link to access PR tracker? and tips on how to create an account there? Some says that they can see the COPR date even though they just received P1.

Ps. I submitted my pr application via immig lawyer, so I don't know if I can have access to the PR tracker.

I hope you guys can help me. Congrats to all folks who already received P1, P2 and CoPR.

For all folks who's waiting, patience is the key. Lets keep our hopes up high. We will all get our PR.

Here’s the link https://ircc-tracker-suivi.apps.cic.gc.ca/en/login. Your immigration lawyer will get an OTP when you sign up!

I had another update over the weekend. Background for both PA and dependent got completed as of October 11. However, I received this GU on October 14 (Thanksgiving Day). Now everything is showing as complete apart from the dependent's eligibility. Any idea what it means? Can I expect some positive news soon?

FD is coming, hopefully P1 too if you're inland.

There's also thread for August AOR here.
