OCI process

This is normal processing speed for CGI Vancouver. To get in hand is ~12 weeks. If it doesn't get processed by end of next week, then there is some point of contacting them.

Hey all,

I live in Quebec City and my zip code comes under Toronto Jurisdiction. However, Toronto is very far for an in-person SC/OCI application and I want to make sure that my application is accepted so I am not interested in postal applications.

Is it possible to submit my application to the Montreal/Ottawa BLS office (under Ottawa jurisdiction)? Has anyone tried to apply in a different jurisdiction that is convenient to them? Please let me know.

Weirdly they used Canada Post. It's was exclusively Purolator before.

I sent them the OCI application through Canada Post Express with a return post already paid for so they sent it back to me through Canada post. You are right usually its Purulator.

That is good to hear that they accept Canada post. Could you explain the procedure in detail please? How much did it cost finally?

I guess Purolator costs 84$ if I am not mistaken for both pickup and return?

Your address proof postal code decides your BLS. Your application won't be accepted at other location.

It costed me $37.50 with tracking for both ways. $ will vary according to the destination zip code. Go to your local Canada Post outlet and tell them you want to send some paperwork through Canada Post Xpress and also want a pre-paid return post. Canada Post employees will help you with the rest of the process which is straightforward.

I have a question regarding the OCI card. I received my OCI recently but there is an issue with passport details.
The place of issue is listed as 'Canada' instead of 'London' as on my Canadian passport. All other details such as passport number, expiry date of Canadian passport on OCI card are correct except place of issue.
I tried updating it using miscellaneous services option on OCI portal but it won't let me update the same passport number.

Please advise what I can do to get this updated.

I plan to visit India in few months and was thinking of getting an Evisa just to have an extra option if it is allowed.

Not sure if Visa is a great idea having a PR card of India (OCI). I will leave it to others to confirm what they have as issuing place. Personally I dont see an issue. Its indeed issued in Canada.

I think you should contact BLS and highlight it.
In my opinion they need to correct or advise you what needs to be done.
