Hi, I am currently in urgent situation i am pregnant with 7 months old with high risk pregnancy, we want to live in quebec and I have CSQ already approved as well. I applied for a visitor visa and i came to Canada with my sponsor and our canadian daughter because we want to wait together the process for PR in Québec.

I need to check with my doctors how my pregnancy is going because it is high risk. Is there any way we can get help either in Canada or faster processing of PR due to urgency or having a RAMQ ?

So you are in Canada on a visitor visa? If so do you have private insurance? There is no faster processing due to pregnancy so contact RAMQ, but if a visitor don’t see how you would be eligible.

IRCC will not process your PR application faster due to this situation and unfortunately Quebec has very long processing times right now for spousal sponsorship. (I am assuming you have applied for PR through spousal sponsorship.)

Assuming your spouse is a Canadian PR or citizen, I thought there was a way to qualify for RAMQ if you have been sponsored. However I don't know that for sure. Has your spouse contacted RAMQ?

This reddit thread seems to say you need AIP in order to qualify for RAMQ. I don't know how accurate that is. Is your application inland or outland? If inland, do you have AIP yet?

We dont have private insurance since the private does not cover anything related to pregnancy or birth this is what they said

AIP is only issued for inland applications and you cannot switch your application from Outland to inland. Has your spouse contact RAMQ yet? This should be your next step.

It's possible you may not qualify for coverage and may have to pay for the costs yourself. But as a first step, you really need to contact RAMQ.

Private insurance can in fact cover costs related to pregnancy and birth. However you have to purchase the insurance before the person being covered gets pregnant. So that's no longer an option for you unfortunately. Definitely get in touch with RAMQ but also make sure you have a "plan B" in case you cannot get coverage. Good luck.

You were warned in previous posts that your wife would not qualify for RAMQ if you came to Canada. Did you not confirm this and determine whether you have the funds to pay out of pocket?
