Study Permit Extension 2024

Hi, i have submitted my application of study permit extension only on 18 June 2024 and everything updated biometrics, UCI etc. I just got another update in which they have started REVIEW OF ELIGIBILITY on 16 September 2024. How much time it will take to get completed my eligibility and result?

Tomorrow 21st September will make 1 month my eligibility is in review

I guess a lot of people are stuck in this. I know the mandatory requirements but I was also going through the website for maintained status while second application is submitting alongside. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/visitors/implied-status-extending-stay.html.
If PGWP is already filed on maintained status and when the extension application is approved, wouldn't the condition of valid study permit be met and restrictions be lifted.

I agree with this and confused too, this way atleast we can apply for PGWP. @rmalik2 it seems you have done a lot of research. Do you mind if to give me your address email to have a quick chat.

anybody know sp and sowp combine applications gets approval for how many months as my friend applied for same application on feb 12 and got approval on the beginning of month her study permit was expired on 30 april.she applied before expiry and in her enrollment letter that was submitted in application of extension the date of ending studies was april 2025,she and her husband got approval till october only.and she applied for pgwp on 20 aug before getting sp extension and she is working also she is saying that if untill oct she do not receive her pgwp she will apply for her spouse s owp in oct because visa issued only till oct,any idea about issue this might cause when she will apply for sowp of spouse along with maybe working paystub as she started working before getting extension

Is this typo or you wrote correct this date: ''date of ending studies was april 2025'' April 2024 or April 2025? I don' understand your situation..you wrote that she got approval to the October and than you wrote that she applied for pgwp while she was waiting sp extension? Did she applied for pgwp in the moment of having her extension approved or not?

her studies already completed but she thought she might get sp and spowp ext atleast for one year but she and her spouse got approval till oct only this might not affect her application as she already applied for pgwp .no she did not have sp extension approval at that time when she applies for pgwp after one week of applying pgwp she got previous sp extension ,but thing is she is working now and applying for her husband s sowp extension in oct because it is only till oct on basis of pgwp applied status my question is that she will include paystubs now for sowp extension,this may cause trouble becuase her husband extension was not approved at time she applied pgwp

Maybe she can include just job offer without paystubs, it will be the best to ask immigration consultant for advice. I saw you applied for extension March 23rd...any update about with that?

when she applied pgwp on implied status of sp her immigration consultant adviced her that she can work even on implied status of sp extension and pgwp,

Why would they get it for one year, since the studies have been ended and PGWP has been filed which is tied to her UCI. The officer would know that she has completed your studies.
Hence, would give the new expiration date of expected grad date + 90 days. A few weeks more in case the processing is delayed.
Job offer would work just fine in this case, if she can get the employment letter (job duties etc.) that is better too.

thank you so much for reply.if we do not apply for pgwp untill decision is made in our case ircc officer know by anychance that we completed our studies,or give us only few month sowp and sp extension. i am worried because i have to look for full time job i don’t have any offer yet to apply for sowp if i apply my spouse s application on implied pgwp

But you are saying she applied for PGWP before her study permit extension was approved? If I’m not wrong. Now in this case until she gets the PGWP she is not eligible to work as per my understanding. I need some clarity on this.
