I applied on May 17th and received the AOR and biometrics payment request yesterday (Sep 17th), exactly 4 months later.

I already provided biometrics in 2022 for study permit from India, which is valid for 10 years. Do I need to give biometrics again? Has anyone been in a similar situation?
Yes, you to give need another biometrics for PR.

I applied to IRCC on the 22nd of April and I'm still waiting for AOR. It's almost impossible reaching them on phone too. Is there anyone in the same situation who applied around the same time?
Try calling them early morning or at evening. You have to keep trying calling them like 10-20 times to get connected. Ask for temporary file number. You can also send webform to ask for temporary file number.

As of June 14, anyone applying for permanent residence (PR) must submit biometrics, regardless of if they have previously submitted them for a temporary residence permit.

The update to the published policy means that IRCC is returning to pre-pandemic procedures for permanent resident applications. Throughout the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, IRCC enacted a policy in the Global Case Management System (GCMS) that made it unnecessary for PR applicants to resubmit biometrics if they had submitted them alongside a temporary resident application within the previous 10 years.

@Miss bee , I would like to ask something I couldn't find the answer online

I applied for a closed work permit with PNP nomination + WPSL and the PR AOR.

However, after that, I consulted my lawyer and he said I should request a new WPSL extension, which I did., but it seems to contradict the words from IRCC:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/foreign-workers/exemption-codes/federal-provincial-territorial-agreements-r204-lmia-exemption-code-t13/nominated-by-province.html#expired-nomination

"
If the nomination is expired, the foreign national must include a copy of the acknowledgement of receipt letter with their work permit application confirming that IRCC has received the PNP permanent residence application before the nomination expired.
"

My question is:

Can I update the new WPSL via the web form?
And is it really needed to request a new WPSL extension in this case?

For submitting work permit your WPSL should be not more than 6 Months old . You can include expired nomination certificate however WPSL should be less than 6 months. You can request new one now and send it through webform asap.

Job Offer........
Yes
I recently lost my status in Canada after my work permit extension application was refused. I had been on an open work permit as the spouse of someone on a PGWP, but my extension was denied because I forgot to attach my work permit support letter. Additionally, the refusal was based on insufficient proof that my spouse had skilled employment at the time. Had I submitted the letter, my application likely would have been approved.

Currently, I have three applications in my account:
  1. PR application under the OINP Employer Job Offer Stream, which is in progress .
  2. Restoration of status application, which I submitted on September 17 (today).
  3. Refused work permit extension application, due to the missing support letter and insufficient proof of my spouse’s skilled employment. Received on September 17 (today).
Timeline:
  • Application Received (AR): April 20
  • AOR + ADR + BIL: August 14
  • ADR Sent: August 14
  • BIL Done: August 16
  • BIL Approved: August 19
  • Pre-Arrival Letter (PAL): August 23
  • Medical Request: August 28
  • Medical Exam Done: September 4
  • Medical Approved: September 13
  • FD: Next status I think...

I’ve acted quickly to restore my status, but I am now out of status and cannot work while my restoration is in progress. I’m concerned about whether this loss of status will impact my PR application, and I would appreciate any insights on what to expect next.
@Miss bee, I am sorry to bother you but I know you are the most accurate in helping us and this has me and my family devastated. I am asking you please if you can give us any advice or if you know what I can or should do.

Hey it is completely normal. For some reason even if you write none in some sections, it doesn't show up when you download the package. I had the same and I got AOR without an issue. Yesterday got PAL as well
Hi friend, I got exactly the same situation as prathams2 and have been worried about it the whole day. Thanks a lot for your words, you really made my day!!!:D

@Miss bee
I finally received my gcms notes, after my application going to another VO and re-passing eligibility.

This is the latest update, and it's within eligibility review:
info sharing brings no concerns

no a36 concerns evident - biometrics complete NRT

Ready for officer review.

However, I noticed criminality switched from in progress to not started, is there any interpetation that can be made from this?
