Being an Indian Passport holder, with a Canadian Permanent resident status, do I have to get a Airport transit visa if I travel to India via Paris (CDG airport). Recently this route costs cheaper and would like to know the current transit visa requirements. If someone has idea about this or recently taken this route, please suggest.

You should check with airline but most international transfers at CDG (not switching airports) can be done by remaining in international zone and never passing through customs or passport control. (Note of course if any part of trip requires entering a Schengen country will have to clear passport control.)
(This was case before COVID and without info on testing and vaccine requirements for all relevant countries.)
I do not have online references but have transferred through CDG many times. Even different terminals there are connected by means that keep passengers in international zone. I've not travelled through there during COVID though.

Do you have a valid PR card or PRTD? How long is your layover? Overnight? Same airport?
Valid PR Card.
Same Airport, a layover is of 7 hours.
My WestJet flight lands at 2E terminal while Air India departing from 2C terminal
You have to check with the airlines. Generally if you can book your luggage straight through (i.e. it's one set of tickets bought together) the 'lead' airline should be able to answer. (If you have to get your baggage then you have to leave the international zone and hence enter France, for which you'd need a visa).
If you bought the two tickets separately, this will probably not work.
As above: most of the time through the one airport you can remain in intl zone and not have an issue.

I read this sentence and say you should be okay: "A holder of a residence permit guaranteeing the right of return and issued by Monaco, the Principality of Andorra, Japan, Canada, the United States"
(again IF you are not entering France or connecting on to the Schengen zone)
Thanks. I don't have any check-in bags so not required to pass through immigration and probably no issues with two separate tickets.
You may not be able to avoid going through immigration and getting checked in again by the next airline if booked separate tickets even if you have no checked bags. You’ll need to research this more carefully and verify with the airlines.
If you bought separate tickets and cannot be booked straight through, you may not be able to do this.
Put differently: most of the time you cannot do 'check-in' for your next flight in the international zone. You may be required to 'enter' France to take care of that step, and if so, you would need a visa.
When you check with the airline taking you to France, they likely will not let you board without a visa OR the ability to check you through on the next flight. And if you did not buy with them, they probably cannot check you on to your next flight.
And if this is not obvious: if you are not allowed to board because you do not have the correct visa, you will likely lose your flight(s) entirely.

CHECK WITH THE AIRLINES.
Web check-in is NOT the same thing. Notably, they almost always have a document check before being let into the secure/international zones. It's not an optional step, esp for international flights.
And even if you think you have it figured out, it won't do you the least bit of good if Westjet won't let you on the flight out of Canada.
So what can I do in this case now?
I called the WestJet helpline and the agent told me that I should be able to board the flight later I checked with the WestJet kiosk at the Airport and they also said that this should not be an issue.
But nothing in writing so far and there is no email ID of WestJet where I can drop a mail or get a written confirmation.
