Hi All,
I'm already in Canada and applied for Federal PR (non-express entry) after getting OINP. I applied in July last year and my background check has been in-progress since February.
Does anyone know if those long timelines (years) are applicable to the inland applicants as well?

They admitted in writing they found no reason whatsoever to put me in security, but still they stalled me as long as they could

Hi ! I’m also inland and applied last July (non express entry) my comprehensive security screening started last December 2023, still waiting. As I see in general it takes for comprehensive security 9-13 months to be done. Hope it won’t take longer.

I applied for GCMS notes about 20 days ago and I haven't received those yet. But since my background check has been in-progress since February, I'm almost certain that it's in security screening.

Yes I tried,but if the security is in progress they can’t help.

What does IRCC tells you about the status of your security? And did you asked your MP about it? coz they can tell you about the security status.

Both of them just told me that the background check (security specifically) is in progress and didn't tell me whether it's comprehensive or just a regular check.

I got my pre-arrival letter in January so I believe the eligibility was passed around then. I'm not sure about my visa office.

In 10th october 2023: your background verification is in progress
August 2024 : medical extended (not sure how long?) only in gc tracker medical passed in august 2024
Any idea , when this security nightmare will end?
