Study Permit Extension 2024

Hi guys. I had applied for my study permit extension and sowp extension on jan 21st 2024. After long wait I received it on 26 june today. Got my correspondence letter yesterday. I hope all of you too soon get your aprroval. During my stressful period i used to look through this thread and it gave me courage when feeling demotivated. Thank you to all.

Ghost update: 22 April
Biometric requested and submitted: 16 May and 19 May

No update after that and still waiting.

We're almost in a similar situation, permit expiring in July while Studies end in August; did you get any update.

Nothing yet... My wife emailed again our MP who said she will reach out to IRCC in our behalf. We'll keep waiting.

Nope. We are still awaiting any response. The process is too opaque. We also applied quite ahead of time to avoid any hassle but don't know what to do now other than waiting. Could you please share when you get yours? From this forum, I have noticed they are processing Jan end applications at the moment, so you should be getting yours anytime. Please let me know if you have consulted any agent or if there is any alternative around it.

Here are my application details:

- Applied for SP extension inside Canada: March 22nd
- Biometric request: April 20th
- Biometric submitted: May 10th

I'm still waiting for a decision. Could you please let us know when you receive the final decision on your application?

I will post once I get an update. My MP told me to reach back to her on the week of July 22 if we still hadn't received a decision so that she could follow up with her IRCC contact. Maybe you should try the same with your MP depending on where you are located.

I haven't reached out a consultant because as far as I know, there's nothing to do except waiting. I have read in the past of people submitting a webform asking to cancel their application and submitting a new one just to see if the new one moves faster but I really don't want to overcomplicate my situation. Also, I thought about flagpoling but I think with the recent changes it might not be advisable to do so...

Application Submission for all: 05/June/2024
Biometrics (self): 09/June/2024
Biometrics (spouse): 12/June/2024.

There is still no update regarding medical or other on our case. My course starts from September. Any one else applied on the same time frame facing similar issues or any update your received from IRCC? Should I raise a webform in this case?

Biometrics request: April 30th
Biometrics updated: May 8th

Hi there,
I'm currently in a tight situation. My study permit will expire on July 30, 2024 and my studies will end in August 2024. So I already applied for an extension on Mar 8, 2024 but till date haven't got any response. I am currently working part time, the contract is till end of August. I know I can study even on maintained status but my concern is "Can I work on maintained status after July 30". Please if anyone has any idea about this, please let me know. Any insights, would help. Thank you!

Hello, a friend of mine applied for his study permit extension on May 21st, 2024. Review of eligibility has not started yet. Biometrics is updated. His study permit expires on Aug 30th and his program ends in December.

Website says that the normal processing time is 55 days. It’s been around 40 days till now. Is anyone else in a similar situation? Please reply with your timeline if you applied around at the same time and your application is approved or if it’s still in process.
