Parents Super Visa processing time for retired Indian army officer

I filled my father supervisa on june 2023, submitted all the required docs again and again, with webforms and mp requests. I am planning to get engaged/married in Canada. Do you think I should withdrawal the application and submit a new one with visitor visa( not supervisa). With engagement booking confirmation.

I have same issue for my parents supervisa application launched on Nov/2022. Canadian government doing extra screening for army an police. They are in contract with some third party for background checks once they clear background then IRCC PROCESS the visa application.

Why would visitor visa be processed faster than supervisa if the actual reason is security screening?

my parents visitor visa is stuck on this phase due to the sane reason. so it will not be faster. its been almost two years

Why didnt you ask your MP to get it sped up due to an important occassion (your marriage) ?

My daughter applied for parents super visa in August 2022. My husband is a retired army officer since 2009. However, we were informed by our consultant that it would take 8-9 months. We received a self declaration form from Canadian embassy in February 2023. It was duly filled and received by Canadian embassy by March 10th. Ever since we are waiting month by month. I fail to understand when all details have been provided by the earnest officer, then why is it taking so long for background the check. ts been 9.5 months now.
My anxiety is on rise because my daughter is pregnant and is due to deliver by mid June23. We have sent requests too. And did receive a response yesterday that application is being reviewed.
I am POSITIVE that our visa will arrive. Just need to know how much is expected time in processing of the same?

Hello mam. Thanks for your post. I am exactly in the same boat. My parents visa is stuck on security as he is a retired army officer. I tried contacting IRCC through my MP and it is still being delayed. Was there any further updates on your visa?

Its a sign of respect for the Indian Armed Forces. I do it for the Canadian and US armed forces too.

Today I submitted a webform including a letter of support from our Obstetrician confirmign the date of delivery for my wife.
I got a response from IRCC acknowleding the email and a generic response from IRCC New Delhi Office.

It has been 14 months since I submitted the application, 8 months since the updated documents were submitted to IRCC.
Still no positice movement.

Never mention in any visa application that anyone is being invited for postpartum care because it can be considered as JOB that requires WORK PERMIT. It happened to me because I hired unlicensed agent who told me I could invite my in laws and got refused.
