Did anyone get any positive response? And is there any other group chat where cases like this are discussed more often? Feeling really frustrated now as my parents application has passed more than 13 months now and still no response from IRCC.

What’s the latest / last update on your application ? Is there anything you got like reviewing additional documents?

Yes we got ADR request in June 2023. After that no update. Applied GCMS notes too. Everything is passed and security section was blank.

I have applied for my Parents Visit Visa (not super) on Jan 26th.
Everything stands completed, and background is in progress.
ADR was asked for my dad, and we submitted the same on Feb 20th.
I wonder if background processing timelines stay same for visit and super visa applicants.

Hi i have applied for my parents super visa. Their files are at background check since they asked for my fathers ex military record which i provided asap. File submitted on march 2 nd and documents provided on 23 april since then no update on both files. My wife and i just had a baby and i gave this reason to expedite the file as well on web form. But no response yet

Hi All,
I applied for Visitor visa 3 times and was rejected for my Father in Law and Mother in Law during June 2022 - Feb 2023.
Therefore in the month of June2023, I applied for Super Visa for both of them.
Unfortunately the application is still in progress.
I got Medical request and completed Medicals in the month of June 2023.
There was an ADR request in Sep 2023 which I submitted but got no response.
The same ADR was requested again in Jan 2024, I submitted the same and awaiting response since then.

In the month of Mar2024, I reached out to our MP and was asked to wait till 16June2024 to request another follow up by the MP.
Meanwhile, I have also written to the Minister of Immigration regarding this. It has been more than an Year since our application.

When I looked at the GCMS notes it looks like our application is stuck at Security.
My Father in law is a retired Indian Army Colonel. This I believe is the reason for them delaying the application.

Next, I am planning to file a case with an Immigration Lawyer in the month of July 2024 requesting for an update/Writ petition.
I am a Canadian Citizen and my Spouse + Son are PRs.

Anyone else has had similar case and have approached any other sources?

Thank you.

hello
I have same issue for my parents supervisa application launched on Nov/2022. Canadian government doing extra screening for army an police. They are in contract with some third party for background checks once they clear background then IRCC PROCESS the visa application.

Given the current relation between two countries and all the recent foreign interference allegations it's very plausible IRCC is required to conduct in-depth screening of people associated with military or law enforcement.

The delay is not necessarily because of IRCC but also third-party agencies involved. Unfortunately, there's no timeframe they have to stick to and can take as long as necessary to establish there is no security risk.

MPs in general have no ability to influence immigration decisions and can only make status inquiries but historically if an MP makes an inquiry they do start looking at the application in a sense move it ahead of other applications but it's debatable. With the new allegations of MPs colluding with foreign govts especially India, I won't be surprised if more and more of them start distancing themselves from this practice.

Pretty unfortunate situation overall but I guess it's just a waiting game. Good luck.
