Many of you have been asking the question whether PCC is required from Canada if the parents have lived here for 6 months or longer.

My parents have remained here on Super Visa since December 2021 and I only gave IRCC a police certificate from the home country, and IRCC specifically asked for that in a letter. When i visited the local RCMP Office they said they will not issue a criminal record check unless IRCC specifically asks for it.

And based on the home country police certificate my parent's application has gotten as far as "Medical exam cleared'. I doubt that IRCC will now ask for a criminal record check from Canada.

So for all those who are wondering what to do I would say do not waste time, money and effort in getting a criminal record clearance from Canada unless you're specifically asked for.

It took just under 4weeks in my case, but my parents applied for it from within Canada. Not sure if its faster in India.

Hi guys my dad had a super visa in his passport but due to the request tp extend his passport expiry for PR application he got a new pass does anyone know if he could still travel with the suoervisa in his old pss? I appreciate ir help

Yes my parents were in similar situation, along with the new passport they placed a cancel seal on the old passport which clearly says any visas on the old passport are valid for travel. This is for India, but i would think most countries should have similar passport/visa rules.

I chose no UCI, then 1 then 1 ( temp or express entry application) and just to got through file number thing I entered invitation number without any alphabets, and it says not recognized. Then there is option to talk to agent by pressing 0. Called around 8 am CST.

Just wanted some info from you reg medical request.

I received medical request letter. I am principal applicant and medical IME form is just with my name.. Dependant IME form is not sent and not appearing in GCKey login.
Is your case with principal and dependant applicant too and did you receive 1 or 2 forms?
Information on this from any member on this forum regarding this would be highly appreciated....

You need to have 2 separate forms for each.

Can you please tell me if you are getting these detailed messages from Application Tracker or the linked IRCC account? I don't see these detailed messages in the IRCC account and when I try to access the tracker it says application not found. Note that I received the sponsorship approval and AOR a month ago, your help is appreciated!

I got a request for additional documents (Adhar card, voter id etc) on March 22nd 2024 and I have responded to the email on April 10th, 2024 and received an automated response from IRCC which doesnt mention about acknowledgeent of documents.

• Is there a way to confirm that they received documents? Do we have a helpline number for getting in touch with them as I am sponsor and representative on the application
• I haven't yet received AOR for my application and the application in the PR portal still shows "Submitted" is it normal?
• I have only XF number and is it possible to see progress of application anywhere? Any portal or link where I can do that?

I am requesting to add me as representative for my parents so that I can follow up on status if needed. I filled the web form Use of representative (IMM5476) for my parents but I got a message from CIC saying that form is not complete. I checked many times and I could not figure out anything missing in the form.
Do the online signatures work or does it have to manual signatures on paper and then scan the document and attach it ?

Hi Abbass,

Yes some of it from the IRCC online account and others based on emails that i got from IRCC. I had trouble linking my account initially so i called IRCC in March and a call center staff guided me patiently on how to link my application. I would advice you do that. The benefit is once it is linked online any document that IRCC wants from you they will create an option for you to upload it on the portal, and by uploading it online they get your documents a lot faster than sending it through the Web form or emailing them.

When you send it via web form or email someone has to upload it for you, so basically you're cutting down that time. And since March I've noticed that whenever i uploaded documents directly (and i've uploaded at least 3 times since then) within 2 days my application has progressed to the next stage. So indeed it is faster i think.
