I am traveling to India on Jan 12. I have a Canadian Passport. I also have an Indian passport (Planning to surrender after I return)

Can I travel to India on a Canadian Passport by getting an eVisa?
Do we need a surrender certificate to show immigration in India when traveling on a Canadian Passport?

Please share your experience if you traveled on Canadian Passport without Surrendering Indian Passport.

You can surrender the passport in India. It's cheaper to do it

You'll get surrender certificate on same day in most cases for INR 500/- in India. If it doesn't work, you can always come back and surrender in Canada.

they need to cancel ration card voter id too if in India..

That's when you contact FRRO for visa. Not needed otherwise.

For recent Canadian citizen - do we need to take the Indian passport while travelling to India. Or we could come back and apply for passport surrender.

If you have visa you don't need Indian passport for travelling to India. You need it if you planning to surrender it during your visit.
