Good sign I think.. for kid application it changed to "surrender certificate granted and ready to be issued" as checked status again just now.. so it took 2-3days so far from previous status.. let's see how it goes tomorrow for other family member.. I am hopeful for processing soon as other few members also got it back in 1week once it reached consulate..

Even other application also updated today with same status. so looks like Toronto consulate has speed up.
Lets see how soon its printed and shipped back to bls and from bls to home. I will update again here.

Update- you can submit Surrender Certificate without applying Canadian Passport of your fall under Vancouver Jurisdiction. You just need to submit a letter of declaration.

Asking that because I noticed that these websites usually come in afternoon or evening instead of morning..

Surrender certificate has been printed.

so took 2 day from "granted and issued" to "printed".. so other family member should update to "printed" on Monday i guess if consulate does not work on Saturday.

A question for anyone who surrendered passport in India - do you need an address proof (e.g. Aadhar) with the same address as Passport? @nivaan5 can you share your experience. Thanks!

I checked the status of my application today and it says "Ready for Collection". Could anyone clarify / answer some questions:

1) Do i need to book an appointment with BLS to collect the certificate or can i just walk in at any time?
2) Whats the best time to go to go to BLS?
3) What kind of wait times am I expecting?

3-4.30 pm is the pickup time. No appointment needed.

But i paid $42 for drop-off services from Purolator. However, a shipping label was not created after payment and I only took a print out of the payment made to Purolator.

You should call BLS then. Somewhere you paying for drop-off service is not reflected on their side.

You have to use BLS tracking after printed status.

Just fyi- New Appointments are opened for BLS Brampton, Mississauga and Toronto for Passport
