Today I got notified that my visitor visa application has been rejected with the following reasons:

Below are my details:

Purpose of visit: Drop off an elderly family friend who has a super visa and also visit historical places in Canada. Invitation letter from the family who are Canadian citizens. My host family also provided a notorized affidavit supporting my travel and temporary stay in Canada.

Duration of the visit mentioned in the applicaiton : 40 days.

Method of Applicaiton: Online using GC Key.

Proof of funds: Family friends showed $150K in Canadian bank deposits (savings accounts). I also showed funds in the home country bank account for $20K. My host family showed CRA Notice of Assessment for preceeding three years. Pay statements for the last six months, and employment letter from their job. My host has a high paying stable job and working for the same company in Canada for 4+years.

Ties to the home country: Has a wife and real estate business in my country of residence. My parents and other family members (brothers/sisters/wife's family etc) back home. My two brothers and their families are New Zealand citizens.

Previous travel history: Traveled to UAE & Saudi Arabia in the past. Also has business expired visas for Malaysia and China but never visted these two countries. My host family applied for GCMS notes and waiting to receive it.

So, I would really appreicate if members in this forum can help us better understand the reasons for rejection and some suggestions to address these issues if we decide to re apply.

Your friends funds are not relevant nor are their jobs and income. They are not family so cannot fund your visit. $20k for a 40 day visit is not enough. Two weeks maybe as you need to show that you can afford to come to Canada without using all your savings. If you have a spouse and all you have is $20k then using all savings. Your parents and siblings are not ties. Ties are a job, business, investments, properties. Travel history would be to the UK, US, NZ and AUS.

40 days are too many for dropping off a friend and visiting historical places. At best 10 days with confirmed departing ticket from canada would have made more sense. Considering the length of time nobody can host a visitor for 40 days unless the relation is blood relation . (eg sisters/brotehrs/parents)

shorten your stay to 10 days and support your trip by yourself.

Also I never applied for any Canadian visa before June 2023 and not sure why the "Created Date" & "Updated Date" for refusal ground details are from 2017 and 2022 respectively.

How can the immigration officer reveiw my file in the year 2017 when I never gave any biometrics or considered applying for any Canadian visa until June 2023?

Infact I never requested anything from the Canadian Govt until June 2023. So how can they have a file for me in 2017? This is really confusing.

what matters are the refusal notes of the recent refusal. if they are in align you must address your refusal reasons. Any future visa officer will have access to your previous visa refusal notes. Let it pass some time apply after a year or so and then in the meantime work on your financial situation and remember vistor visa is a nonimmigrant visa you must come back after your trip usually applicants opt for 10-14 days at best so your travel plans must make sense.

Apart from that show home ties having a property on your name and a stable job are strong homw ties and keeping wife/kids back home is also strong tie.

Why my visa refused? Plz update

1. Your purpose of visit doesnt make sense. (Example: You are planning to travel for toursim to canada, whereas you never travelled or limited traveled to Toursistic countries like Malaysia, Thailand or turkey etc) (Other Example: You want to go for a conference in Canada whereas you never went to any conference around the world OR this conference will not help you with anything in your life/job/etc)

2. I think you reside outside your home country. So its common reason of refusal for people residing outside home country. (Example: Pakistani citizen residing and working in Dubai with low savings/salary etc, So he is not financially established in Dubai.)
OR you reside in your own home country BUT have very low paying job OR your job doesnt have good scope in your home country.

3. Your job/occupation is one of targeted occupation which the country of residence want their own citizen to work in. (Example: Pakistani working in Sales in Saudi Arabia. and Saudi Arabia passed a law that Sales jobs will be for Saudi Citizens only. - Now all foreigners working in this job category have limited employment possibilities in the country of residence).
OR your job/occupation doesnt have good scope in your home country.

Apply for GCMS notes and see what officer wrote on the file.

Hi All,
Thank you very much for your valuable suggestions. Today I received GCMS notes for my file and it only has the info that was stated in my original refusal letter (see below) and nothing more so I am really confused here.

Also I never applied for any Canadian visa before June 2023 and not sure why the "Created Date" & "Updated Date" for refusal ground details are from 2017 and 2022 respectively.

1. Your purpose of visit doesnt make sense. (Example: You are planning to travel for toursim to canada, whereas you never travelled or limited traveled to Toursistic countries like Malaysia, Thailand or turkey etc) (Other Example: You want to go for a conference in Canada whereas you never went to any conference around the world OR this conference will not help you with anything in your life/job/etc)

2. I think you reside outside your home country. So its common reason of refusal for people residing outside home country. (Example: Pakistani citizen residing and working in Dubai with low savings/salary etc, So he is not financially established in Dubai.)
OR you reside in your own home country BUT have very low paying job OR your job doesnt have good scope in your home country.

3. Your job/occupation is one of targeted occupation which the country of residence want their own citizen to work in. (Example: Pakistani working in Sales in Saudi Arabia. and Saudi Arabia passed a law that Sales jobs will be for Saudi Citizens only. - Now all foreigners working in this job category have limited employment possibilities in the country of residence).
