Aged People language requirement for citizenship

Just as the tagline says, someone came up with a curious question today. Hope to get some insights.
So how do aged people like grandparents and parents fulfill language requirements for citizenship?
Is there an age limit to sit for IELTS?
Some of them even don't have higher secondary education...

18 to 54 years of age have language requirements. All others are exempted.

That means they just keep on updating the PR card so as to maintain their status?
Essentially, yes.

They would need to continue to meet the residency obligation for PR (730 days out of every rolling 5 years) and then continue to renew their PR card.
