Delay in Study permit processing

Bro, we share the same problem here.
I applied on July 21, 2023
Did biometric on July 24, 2023
I'm also applying from Ghana

Since then I've not heard from them again
It's been 3 months now since biometric.

almost the same timeline
it's been 16 weeks since my sister did her biometrics and so far nothing.
this delay is not fair.
we paid around 25K CAD for the tuition fee in May 2023 to get admission. we could have started a business and made money with that in my home country. They don't care about our life or time.

Please I applied for winter 2024 in UPEI in July and After my biometric in August … I haven’t heard from IRCC .. the school sent an email that I should provide a proof of visa for study permit which the deadline is 1st December .. please I don’t know what to do and quite worried .. what should I do now, write to defer or still wait ??

No. Your school needs to approve the deferral and give you new LOA. Some schools will not allow deferrals. Once you have new LOA upload it to your file. Then you wait.

Applied on 19 September and medical and biometric updated on 29 September and eligibility and background check has started on the same day.
But after no updates from ircc.
Is there anyone who applied in September but still no response yet from ircc??

Hi Bhumi,

Here's my timeline and a bit of a background. I'm applying for a study permit to a DLI in Brampton, Ontario for the Winter intake

September 4th - I submitted the complete requirements including upfront medicals (wife - OWP and 1 child)
October 2nd - Medicals got updated in tracker
Sometime October - Not sure exactly when Eligibility check started but upon checking around October, it was already marked as completed
Sometime October - At the same time, Background verification was already "In progress"
Dec 7th - all of our IRCC tracker accounts got a "ghost update", no information got updated nor did I receive any messages

Fast forward to present, Background verification is still "In progress".
No updates from IRCC whatsoever. I have already sent webforms including one from the "new" webform

Things aren't looking good as I may have to defer to the next intake if I don't get a refusal.
