Yes, just the birth certificate and they did not point out on anything.

Hi, any estimates on timeline to receive OCI (applied in Ottawa, for minor born in Canada, parents on Indian Passport)

Applied For: 5 month old Minor
Application Date: 18-Aug-2023
Applied at: BLS OTTAWA
Application Acknowledgment Date: 23-Aug-2023 (in OCI online)

Status update (as on 17/10/23)
BLS website: "Processing at High Commission"
Oci Online website: Under Process

Planned date of Travel is 2nd November. Wonder if I need to postpone my tickets !

Currently Acknowledgment date till 18-Aug-2023 have been processed. We don't have a lot of data points but people have received OCI between 8.5 - 10.5 weeks from date of acknowledgement.

I sent original passport and birth certificate and paid for the mail service with purolator for pick up, return of original and OCI mailing.

My question is: when will BLS send back my originals? Will it come with OCI card or before that?

Usually originals should be returned after 3 weeks.

Its been 3 weeks and 1 day since my application was delivered to BLS. Hope they send it soon. I tried calling BLS (but they won’t pick up) and sending email but no reply yet.

For postal applications most people are not sending in any originals. I would think BLS should have returned the originals when the application was reviewed by them. Call BLS and ask.
What is the application date shown in BLS status site?

Toronto. Which is your location? For Vancouver its taking about 30 to 35 days to get processed after Ack. You could expect to see some updates by the end of October.
