This is factually incorrect!

If you look at the bottom left of your GCMS notes, the notes are pulled by an officer working in the ATIP department using an automated tool. Your GCMS notes show the user ID (an automated bot version of the ATIP officer's ID) and datestamp/timestamp used to pull the notes from GCMS. The user ID is different from any of the IDs your application is assigned to.

So as the twitter responses below state, it is handled by a completely different department and neither delays nor expedites your application processing. Any movement in your file after requesting GCMS notes is purely coincidental

See here:

Also here:
There are 2 options when you make a request:
you can either request a status updates/officer notes etc, which, I believe, would be put into the GCMS system, thus allowing for anyone with access to get the information (these are the commonly requested GCMS notes).
or
you can request the application, supporting documents and correspondence, which is similar to a typical ATIP request. Correspondence is not likely to be stored in the GCMS and it will need to be extracted on an employee level.

If you are the applicant who is directly affected by IRCC delays and unfair processing of applications, or if you know someone who is, please sign the petition below so our voices reaches to IRCC and to express our frustrations and distress of this unfair treatment for applications specially those from 2021 and 2022. Please make sure this link reaches all who are in this dilemma and limbo!

Good job @ada228! Though we are late 2022 applicants, my hubby and I still signed.
We all deserve a transparent and fair processing.

Thank you, I ordered notes yesterday. It’s probably going to take its own sweet time.
How did you request the notes? I think I might do the same! I’ve been waiting for an update since April 18th, LPP still in progress. My friends who applied three months ago have their oath already!

@shiremag How do we know decision made for online application? should we go by LPP complete date or could that differ?

Also, should minor also complete physical presence requirements? Can I not apply immediately after I receive my certificate for a minor who has not met physical presence requirement?

I saw the below statement on https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-0403-citizenship-minors-subsection-5-1.html

Note: Is the minor applying too early? If the minor applies before they meet the physical presence requirements, they will not qualify for citizenship. The application will be returned and the minor will have to re-apply later.

Hi there, anyone else here who had their Oath Ceremony virtually on July 17th at 11AM EST and requested an e-certificate but have not yet received their e-certificate as at July 19 10AM EST?

I noticed those who had their ceremony on July 18th already received theirs same day.

For online applicants, LPP being marked as complete is equivalent to ECAS Decision Made.

If the minor has a Canadian parent, they do not need to satisfy physical presence requirements. You'll can apply once you get your citizenship certificate under subsection 5(2) instead. See here:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/application-canadian-citizenship-minors.html

It's recommended you apply online:

Hi wanderlustdev,

My husband was at the same ceremony as yours on July 17th and the officer never asked my husband if he wanted an e-cert or paper! I was surprised so instead we requested it in the email we sent her with our electronic signatures.

I'm also wondering when we will hear back and whether we will get the e cert since she never asked!

How did you request the e cert? If you get any updates, please share :)

The Clerk asked me if I wanted electronic certificate and I said yes. She offered me the option but my initial Oath ceremony invitation email mentioned I will be getting an e-certificate.

Does your husband by any chance remember the clerk's full name?

But she didnt ask my husband and I dont recall that there was mention of the e cert on the oath invite. It said we had a choice, but we never got asked??!
