Hi there, I applied for my parents visitor visa in June 2023. They had visitor visa before which got expired. This was the first time I applied online and noticed for them two different application number was generated. I thought it will be one application and my father being principal applicant.
Now the issue is while uploading the additional documents, due to size issue I couldn’t fit all doc in one attachment and made two files - uploaded one for father, another for mother’s additional doc attachment. Now will this be an issue? I thought its one application so should be fine.. but now as there are two different numbers, I am confused.
Anyone has any idea if this okay or I should submit same docs separately for both applicants?

Hi there,

I understand your confusion. It is not uncommon for two different application numbers to be generated for a visitor visa application if the applicants are applying separately. This is because each applicant is considered to be a separate application.

In your case, since you uploaded the additional documents separately for your father and mother, it is best to submit them as separate applications. This will ensure that the visa officer has all of the necessary information for each applicant.

Here are the steps on how to submit separate applications for your parents:
  1. Go to the IRCC website and log in to your account.
  2. Click on the "My Applications" tab.
  3. Select the application for your father and click on the "View/Edit Application" button.
  4. Click on the "Add Additional Applicant" button.
  5. Enter your mother's information and click on the "Save" button.
  6. Upload the additional documents for your mother.
  7. Repeat steps 4-6 for your mother's application.
Once you have submitted both applications, the visa officer will review them separately. If both applications are approved, your parents will be issued two separate visitor visas.

I hope this helps!

I already submitted the application as Family application, during submission I selected my father as principal applicant. This is why I am so confused why two different application numbers were generated. Since I selected my father as principal applicant, my question is do I still need to submit their documents separately?

Hello everyone,

i have applied for visitor visa for my mother in law (from wife s IRCC account and she is the representative) via the new portal. Here is our timeline:
Submission- June 22
Biometrics collection- June 23
Biometrics completed- June 28
Background check started - June 23 ( in progress )
Eligibility started- June 30 ( Guessing)
Eligibility completed- July3 ( IRCC tracker Portal)

Can anyone confirm once eligibility is completed ,how many days to receive a ppr or as some people say that the tracker portal will contain the visa details like expiry and document number.

kindly suggest what could be the outcome, once eligibility is completed.
Thank u in advance

Quick update: We just got PPR and BVL lettrr in the IRCC portal few hrs after the above original post.
Cant believe ! It just took 9 total days to get the Visa !
