There was someone who filed on thier own using Chat GPT just recently. Maybe try that route? I recall they mentioned that he was basically able to come to an agreement with IRCC that he would withdraw the mandamus if a decision was made on his file.

So far looks like it should be under 5K, but could be more if it gets to the last stage, or they end up spending more hours then planned. I guess I won't know until it is over.
I think it depends on the firm you're working with. The first step where they just send a letter seems to be up to 2-3K, but you could probably find someone who'd do that for less.
I think somebody on this forum did some of that work on their own with help of chatgpt and succeeded, but I personally wouldn't want to risk it.
I heard a lot of them fail on technicalities, so it is important that everything is done correctly.
Most people contact a law firm that has experience with mandamus, and let them handle everything. They seem to take cases at 18-20 months mark now.
I read in the article that IRCC is not responding to mandamus the way they used to before. So check that with the law firm too.

Quickly or not, at least with mandamus there is some sort of a timeline.
From what I understand (not an expert) the worst case it will be 3 stages finished in about a year. Without mandamus, could be decades.
And I think if it goes to the last stage with mandamus, normal processing would be even longer.
I applied for Canadian citizenship in December 2021. I completed the citizenship test on September 2022. Since then my process seems to be stuck. There were 4 “cold updates” (in November, December, March, and June) since then to my process, where only the “Updated” date changes but there are no real changes to the application statuses. Did anybody experience the same already? That’s super frustrating.

Yeah, I think everyone got most of these ghost updates. Something about updating the system. My last one dates back to early March. Nothing in June, though, so maybe that's a good sign for you!
I received an email from IRCC today and ask me to setup IRCC portal account to receive e-certificate.
When I applied on Dec 2021, we don't have this option, I sent a webform few months ago ask for e-certificate, and no response. I also call IRCC number and ask the agent change my certificate type from paper to e-certificate, they said they cannot change it. But last week I called, they said the certificate type is already e-certificate.
I am surprise I received the email and I am not sure when did the certificate type changed, at least from gcms note on May 11, it's still shows paper.
I saw some threads that if you mention you need e-certificate urgent during the oath, you can get it in the next day.
I called IRCC today. the agent told me the oath date is June 28. not showing in the tracker yet, probably will see it on the tracker on Friday

Yes, I called IRCC to get my oath date, June 28, 2023. The tracker usually update 2 days later.
