Hey guys. I am attaching pay stubs, bank statements, really thorough sponsor letter and invite explaining everything. But I am not attaching a travel itinerary (airline ticket). Is that necessary? Are you guys buying return tickets and attaching those?

Pay stubs ok but don't buy tickets until you know the outcome.

What period of time did you request for in your TRV? 6 months? What did you do about ties back to home country?

Just put 6 months. Anyway if they are approved we can extend it 30 days before the expiry date of the visa. The ultimate goal is to have them with us and wait for the result of the sponsorship.

Employment letter…assets such as a house..properties..investments etc
I don't understand the employment letter. What job back home will allow an employee to leave for 6 months? My wife will lose her job if she visits for longer than 2 weeks. So what to do?

Almost nothing. Even in Canada almost no one will allow you to have a vacation or leave of absence of 6 months. Just put her employment letter then if ever you she get approved for trv just tell her to resign from her job.

Even Minister Fraser on his announcement knows that if an applicant gets approved for trv they wouldnt want to go back home again until approved for PR. He said it so himself. Plus that is why outland applicants can now apply for OWP so that they can integrate into Canada’s work force. They know that most of the applicants goal is to reunite with loved ones and to also work.

Thanks, but what to say in invitation letter? That my wife will return to her country after 6 months? Will they believe her employment letter given what I wrote above? If we just got AOR then it will likely take a year for PR to complete, so won't the officer who checks our application know that?

Yes. Put 6 months in the invitation letter. 6 months is the visa valid for visitor.

An employment letter to state that the person indeed works for such and such company and has worked for them for x amount of time. I’m a nurse when I ask them for employment letter in general for something all it states is the date I started working for the hospital, how many days a week I work and how much I make. That’s it. It’s not their business what you need it for. It’s not you asking them for permission to travel it’s just to confirm you are indeed employed and with details about the employment.

We have yet to see how these spousal application will be assessed compared to previous TRVs for spouses. It’s impossible to know whether you should include proof of employment for your spouse abroad like you used to. We have no idea how IRCC is going to assess application while also trying to prevent spouses with tons of red flags from entering Canada. Assume this is partially an attempt to meet labour needs without putting additional strain on housing but there are huge potential issue with this program from partners not qualifying for healthcare in most provinces to difficulty assessing true relationships if there has been minimal time spent in a relationship. It is very hard and expensive to remove people from Canada once they have entered which is why most processing tended to be done from outside of Canada.

I think that health care is not that big an issue for trv for 6 months to a year specially with current sponsorship that just passed the medicals. Unless spouses that are or would be pregnant. We know how costly thiw is specially if its coming out of your own pocket. That is why you are right that if trv gets approved a health insurance is a must.

You are also right regarding tons of red flags that would come in IRCC’s way. There will be tons of application after the announcement. Now we will see the 90 or 98 percent approval rate.
