My eligiblity has been in progress since March 5, 2023 after which they asked for additional informaition. No updates in the Tracker snce march 20, 2023. I wonder if I am going to hear back soon.

Don't bother the Last Update date on the Tracker anymore. Even with updates, this field was not changed for us. It seems that when this field was updated, IRCC would likely receive calls from the applicants (they might be flooded during the period of everyday updates).

Yeah, it seems IRCC disabled the last update function as I got a few updates like MR or BIL after the 20th and it didn't change.

How long did it take to change to complete? They asked for information on how me and my spouse met/introduced to each other, my source of income

We have contacted our MP with regards to our application since we have not had any updates since medical passed in december 2022.

Although the PR portal shows that background and eligibly are under process, IRCC has informed them that these phases have not started yet which was confusing to me.

They also said that the estimated timeframe is 16 months, which i already know is the generic system timeline- i am hoping we hear something before the 16 months.

Has anyone from those who got pre-arrival letters tried contacting their MP before approval?

I believe only a few ppl tried here since we are all Sep 2022 applicants. Processing time between 7 to 9 mo. is already a decent outcome. MPs are also not allowed to push any case within the set frame of 12-16 mo.

If your case is not considered to be an expedited one (married 2 years or more/have child[ren]), the basic processing time depends on - Background complexity > Eligibility ambiguity > Information completeness > Luck.

These issues just go to show the gross incompetence and negligence of the IRCC. As a Canadian, I'm embarrassed that this is the first experience so many new Canadian PRs have of the way our country works. What a joke. But keep giving yourselves raises in Ottawa, kids! Good job!
