Hi

I have an urgent query,
Is an Indian BDS recognised in Canada?
In case not, which all exams do we have to give?

and how long will it take for me to practice there?

Indian BDS is considered a non-accredited degree. Research all the information in the link to see what you need to do. How long it takes depends on the education and exams required. Depending where you live you can enrol in a university. Attached is U of T’s bridging program.

Has something changed? As far as I remember and check, it is still won't give you masters: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/5-years-of-professional-studies.641530/post-9073566

I am talking about express entry route only. In EE specifically, dentistry is one of the 6 or 7 bachelors degree considered as professional degree fetching points equivalent to masters. Your above mentioned post is for utilisation of ECA that gives masters equivalency for university admission which solely depends upon each university's own criteria for evaluation of degree.

Thanks for sharing that. I was mistaken. It says "Masters or professional degree" clearly under:
"Master's degree, OR professional degree needed to practice in a licensed profession (For “professional degree,” the degree program must have been in: medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, optometry, law, chiropractic medicine, or pharmacy.)"
