It definitely does. It shows the officer that there is money at stake and person is serious about coming back. though, one should book only fully refundable tickets for safety. In all cases i have seen, return tickets have been attached and approved.

I would suggest next time please use following additional documents also to make your case strong: - Property papers in your mother's name - Sufficient funds / shares / FD's / Bonds etc along with statements for past 6 months of all these. - NOC from school / college from where she is working...

I dont think this is scam, what I think is basis my experience (I myself bought a biometric slot for my mother) these people know at exact time when slots are released. They book there and then. VFS being a private and global organisation, I dont think they will do anything like that.

Agree, so the way is to get it from a consultant who helps you to get a slot. I also got for my parents from him. Cant share his number publicly, so DMs his number.
