Study visa for minor after visitor visa refusal

Many school boards in Ontario are now asking for study permits for minors even if parents have work or study permits. Also if high school age then a study permit is asked for in most provinces.

I understand, its regulations of some provinces. Not all require study permit for minors and one of them is Nova Scotia.

It is not actually a provincial regulation. It is the schools boards that can require study permits. And in some school boards like Toronto, we have seen examples where they are not admitting minors of parents who have study permits with private DLIs. School boards, especially with enrollment and staffing issues, can require study permits. May see a change in federal government policy as people on the forum are posting about children being refused a TRV and instead being told to file for a study permit.

Okay. Its clear now what are you talking about, thanks for information provided, however I have no interest to learn more deeply about this issue as I have already communicated with some schools where we're going to arrive and they require from me only my valid study permit and filled school registration document along with references from previous schools, that's all.

Hi, I along with my wife and two kids (12+ years and 4+ years) applied for work permit for me and my wife and visitor visa for both the kids. Unfortunately, my elder son's visa got refused with this reason "the purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application". For reconsideration, using IRCC webform, as an enquirer, should I apply as a applicant or representative?Please see 'Enquirer Information'

Why? What are you changing when asking for reconsideration? So child is not going to stay in Canada and go to school? What did you show for home ties of child? Reconsideration is not a formal process so can take longer than just reapplying?

I can mention that I got the the opportunity to develop my skill in Canada for one year and after that I'll return and will join my government academic job in India. For that, I have got the work permit (this is the change as I didn't have work permit when applied). My son is dependent and minor and also doesn't have any spouse or common law partner. He will be totally dependent on me and will return back with me after one year. Will it work?

If I reapply for study permit, how can I get the original letter of acceptance from Canada school (mandatory for IMM 1294)?
