Admission and study permit

Hello members,

I am a Software Engineer on a PGWP in Canada and want my spouse to come to Canada. One of the options i was considering to bring her here is getting her admission here is a university/college in a 2-year diploma program. I have a few questions on this and would really appreciate your advice:-

1. Can i as a husband show fund support for my spouse since she doesn’t have a bank account? How much money do i need to show? Is 15K enough?
2. Does she needs to show home ties? She is not studying and not working either and we don't have kids.
3. Are there programs which don't require IELTS? Can anyone recommend a good program they took recently and the admission process?
3. Which option has better approval chances in my case? Visitor Visa, SOWP or Study permit?

1. Yes. You can show funds. $15k is enough after paying tuition.
2. Yes. She needs to show education and career advancement. She needs to show how her career will advance after her return to justify costs (higher paying job, promotion). She still needs to prove a reason to go back.
3. You need to research. Most programs require English test of some kind. Even though not required for study permit, IRCC will want to see good language skills.
4. SOWP if you have a job in Canada.

1. Yes, you can show the funds. If she has already paid first year tuition, then $15,000 should be fine. If she hasn't, then you want to show $15,000 + first year tuition.
2. Yes, she should show home ties.
3. She will need to research this. She can find admission requirements on the college / university web sites.
4. I can't comment on this.
