Hi, I am also considering moving to US on TN1 after I get my Canadian citizenship. I was wondering if you have any idea on how to navigate the notice period in Canada when moving on TN1. They say if you show up at the US border more than 10 days before your job start date, they would ask you go come back closer to your job start date. But you need to give 14 days notice in Canada. Hence it looks like we need to resign in Canada before we get TN1 status and then risk getting TN1 denial after the resignation. Wondering if you had any idea on dealing with that since you also seem to be interested in move to US on a TN1, I hope you don't mind me hijacking the thread for just a bit. Thank you!

Looks like IRCC agent just opened my file for first time and shoot lot of stuff! Re medical request + few ADR!

1) Agent asked about two transactions in one my account, asking for proof of funds.

Transaction A is transfer I made from my New Zealand Bank Account to Australian Bank Account, I always use money transfer app and can get Receipt from that. Do I need to explain source of funds in my NZ account as well? It was attached in POF.

Transaction B is from an Business account, It's a refund for return of faulty good. I have invoice for it.

2) Schedule A for both of us.

So they only need Police Certificate from Australia correct? Because we provided indian pcc issued on 1st Oct 22 and since then nothing is changed. Although she only stayed on tourist visa for 60 days in Australia :|

If I may ask you a question then without any disrespect? Why are you moving to Canada then if you don't think that you can make it over here or if the country isn't even for you and aren't you part of the 437,000 people the government's trying to invite every year? If the government cuts immigration, then your chance to immigrate to Canada would also decline? If you believe that the government should reduce immigration and if you were to lose your chance, would you still be okay with the reduced numbers?

No worries. I am moving to Canada because from February 2022 I am in a constant state of running. You see, I loved my city and my country. Right until the moment, my president decided that life is too boring and it's good time to start WW3. I didn't agree with that and thus, I moved away. Canada gives me a stability at this moment. If you look at my posts, you will see that I started to comment only around April 2022, even though I applied in January 2021. I was way less stressed until Feb. 2022. After that, I had a choice between Canada vs. draft.

If the government cuts immigration, my chance wouldn't decline. I have Masters from Canada, I have in-demand job. If not Canada, then I would have moved to Netherlands. I am against this level of immigration. I am not against the immigrants but accepting this high number is careless approach and as a new immigrant, I suffer because of that.

If Canada reduces immigration numbers, I wouldn't lose my chance. However, if I would lose it, then I wouldn't care about Canada and move to another country.

Sure. I have never said that gun control is not a problem. Mass shootings happen and it's a shame. However, in a sense, I don't feel secure in Toronto. Can explain why. In the mid-December, I saw a homeless guy attacking a woman. He just punched her in the face and kept walking as she was bleeding. I saw cops and approached them and they said that because it's not their jurisdiction, I have to call 911. I did. By the time the dispatcher got my call, the guy just disappeared. This doesn't excuse the mass access to guns. I just want to point out that whoever wants to get a gun will be able to do so in Canada as well. Black market exists here as well.

Top tier is perhaps Japan. No violent crime usually and there is police behind every god damned telephone pole. They are also fire arm averse. And a lot of them do not carry firearms in usual policing.

Now when it comes to Canada and USA, their police departments are actually under-resourced for policing. So, they actually do not investigate a lot of complains they recieve. I heard in SF they do not even try to investigate car theft these days because they are so innudated in cases. In BC, crime against women are ignored from what I hear. If you have a creep living in your building and acting creep, police is likely to do very little. This mess is everywhere in NA.

Firearms in public adds a new challenge. It makes police worried about their own safety. And guess who they suspect the most? Us immigrants. You don't look "american", you are more suspect. You dont sound american, you are more suspect. Our risk profile as immigrants is not usual look-american sound-american profile. Black folks have worst risk profile and I suspect, we might be similar.

I was flagpoling at Peace Arch for my WP in 2019. I had to go to US side and cross back to Canada. I had no personal vehicle so I went on foot. I approched border post, kept my passport in hand, clearly visible and both hand clearly visible. Damn border police folks always have one hand on their weapon.

I have already explained that there are certain things that I find important in life. Canada won't help me achieve those. Therefore, for ME, USA>Canada

Tbh, 180K CAD is pretty tough to achieve. There is a handful number of companies that pay that much and the competition is fierce. With the recent crypto failures, that number got even smaller

You cannot imagine how many people told me that already. Everyone I studied with or I met back in 2019-2020 are just waiting for the citizenship. After that, the USA or their home countries or buying a place in south of Europe and consulting.

I cannot see myself raising a family in Canada. A guy over here can't even find medicine for his kids. My former colleague cannot get his kid to a doctor. They made plans to fly to Mexico to show his kid to doctors over there.
