First real snowfall of the season here in Toronto and traffic has come to a halt. Let's see if I can tolerate the next 4 months :/

My balcony is uncovered, and there are a few inches of snow covering the floor.

I had an online tutor for 45min or 1h per day, 5 times per week. I found her on Superprof and chose someone who was a native French speaker, former TEF examiner, professional tutor and most importantly - she believed that with enough effort, it could be done
We followed Cosmopolite 1-3 books and Grammaire progressive for grammar exercises. I spent every possible idle time (commuting, between sets at the gym, literally whenever I could) to practice conjugating verbs and learn vocabulary (I used a few different apps - there are plenty available so just pick whichever one you like the most) and listening to Coffee Break French podcast. I kept reading the news in French and tried to watch French movies etc.
Overall my schedule was - approx. 1 h lesson with around 1-1.5h of homework plus additional homework for weekend (usually a lot of writing). The rest was the stuff mentioned above (podcasts etc.)
The last 6-8 weeks was pretty much just pure exam prep - you can find a lot of exam papers online - I was doing 1-2 full exams per day.

I will add to this saying you can try Lingoda sprint. Look it up. If nothing else it forced an extra hour of french from me daily for 90 days.

Also Inner French podcasts should basically be part of your daily routine. I think that was the single most useful thing for me. I'd listen to an episode on teh way to work. Then in the evening, I'd listen to it again with the transcription and note down words and sentences that were new. Literally a week into doing this, my listening had improved drastically.

Oh and duolingo stories are decent ways to pass the time while still practising. Stories only though, the rest of their language tree stuff is fairly useless.

Wow.. I have never thought about this! This is a really great idea actually! If everyone stops getting into the EE pool, then the Immigration minister will think of a way to meet their huge immigration target. Probably we can see a similar program like TR to PR pathway but open up for outland applicants as well. It will be on a first come first serve basis without any french! The targeted NOC draw will not be implemented as well next year since there is not enough demand even without it. The backlog will also decrease and the processing time for FSW will go back to 6 months or less. It solves a whole lot of issues!

Let's start a change. org petition to stop getting good scores in protest. We won't enter the pool unless they make it easy to get an ITA.

No, I believe it is only for pre-ITAs and new EE profiles from November 16 onwards.

I'm thinking with the next draw expected to be next week along with the TEER changes today rendering all the profiles in the pool ineligible would make the score go lower than _usual_, right? From the fake profiles and the people who added their profiles and won't make the changes this week to the consultants with GC key access for their clients and won't be able to catch up to change all of the profiles they handle.

I mean either this or they would just stop the draws next week.

Is what I'm saying is reason, can someone share their opinion on this?

I received an email today stating "Your application status has changed" but there is no new message or any change under the details of my application. The current status on the home says "Your actions is required.
I received my medical clear email and biometric request yesterday. I have also booked the slot for the biom on 18th Nov.

Can someone suggest what has likely happened with my application?

There aren't any fake profiles.

Yes, it's possible some people may not update their profiles in time.

Yes, if there is a draw next week, it's possible scores may be lower.

I got the same email and status change. And I'm at the same stage as you. I'm guessing the 'action required' refers to giving biometrics. I also asked about this yesterday but didn't get a reply so I'm just guessing

The reference letter mentioned that my position was equivalent to a specific NOC (2016 version). In this case, if I were to be picked from the draw, do I need to ask my previous agency to reissue a new letter with an updated NOC?

I guess you can ask for a new letter. However, the letter doesn't need to state any specific NOC code. It just needs to list your job responsibilities, and if your experience meets the NOC code that you state in your application, you should be fine.

Thanks for your input. The letter was issued back in 2018 and I didn't keep real steady connections with my previous agency so I do not know whether the HR director is still in that position now given the agency underwent some structural change after I left. So, my follow-up question would be, is it possible I can still use that letter as proof of my working experience back form 2017 to 2018?
