You're looking at the data selectively. In fact, the sheet computes the average time to AOR as 287 days which is close to 9 months. Honestly if you receive it within a year that's just good news.
But at the same time, a lot of the AOR with more than 300 days was from last year. If you look for this year the average time will be less than 287 days.

Nope I haven't done a medical yet, so it definitely cannot be exempted. I'm a little surprised they haven't sent me one yet. I mean if they're working on my file and deemed me eligible they would have got this one out of the way.
Ah ok, so if you haven't had medical done in past (or one in last 5 yrs), then I think you may receive MR going forward.. I guess PAL before MR is not odd then.

Yes! I'm actually in contact someone who applied for PR on the exact same date (8 Mar 2022) and he received is AOR about 1.5 months before me (3 Oct), but we received PAL at the same time (this week) and he got his medical request just today. I expect mine will come in a few days.

Is there anyone here who has never seen their background check status change? Mine has always been "we will send you a message when we start ..."

AOR in 7-8 months aint really good. As per the sheet, people are receiving AORs in average of 3-4 months.
I remember reading an article here some time ago, about how applications are processed and use of AI making some initial decisions on whether to move the application in so called green-bin or the other. I guess AI maybe in the play here at some extent for those who got their AoR in short time or I could be totally wrong and some other factor could be the reason, who knows.

Hey! Congratulations! What a way to go! No request for ADR too. Great news. It is just amazing that they did not ask you for ADR. :)
Same boat. March 10 - Application , August 10 - AOR , October 26 - Medical Passed, October 27 - PAL and waiting for next update.

no, the GCKey portal is dumb, that very section of background won't (meaningfully) change until you get DM or CoPR(I can't remember which one is it). If you want a real status update the only way to go is to request GCMS notes. That's how the Central People's Government of the People's Republic of Chanada doing its all-transparency job lol.

wops i didn't see this, made me feel better lol
but I heard some of those noble gentlepersons would even retaliate if you file a writ of mandamus on them bcz "you think" they didn't do their job according to the standard(if there is still one, that is), AND, not only on you but other random incident people. I've heard a case where a noble person in the HK office not only rejected the people who filed the writ of mandamus but also "opened fire(rejected)" on about 30 random incident unlucky people and made them collateral damage, out of its rightful rage. lol. The nature of those cases is unknown, probably some visa stuff but I've been told that there is still the risk of filing a writ of mandamus.

Looking at the spreadsheet, PAL is the strongest indicator that a positive decision (DM1) is looming. Without crunching the numbers looks like PAL -> PPR/Portal 1 is usually a few days away, generally under a month but sometimes as much as 3 months. Rarely is there an ADR after PAL - from what I see ADRs are made if you later disclose an update such as a child/marriage etc. I'm rooting for my "PAL" @SCW to get it as soon as this week :D. Portal 1 is when you can stop worrying IMO because that's ultimately the approval of your application and you're at the finish line. The COPR/PR Card are mere formalities.

Hey guys. I called IRCC three days ago to ask for a TFN, but they said they can't find my application. Is that an issue or something? A lot of people called IRCC and they were issued TFNs.

Yes, it is quite unreasonable as the main requirement is my degree and not the job offer/letter of employment. Although I had a permanent job offer at the time of application which I submitted, they requested an "updated letter of employment" and payslips!
