Does background check does not start until medical passed? I received an ADR (ppc)and not medical passed yet. As Ircc requested me ppc as additional document, I though BG check would have been commencing. I am little confused now.
PCC indicates that your Criminality is under process. This is part of your Background check .

Received a ghost update today.

Background check changed from: "We are processing your background check" to "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check."

Something was done. Hopefully ADR tomorrow, or transferred to another office, or possibly to do with a webform I sent about a personal info update.

Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check." - For me it shows same message, but it does show as " we will send you a message when we start your background check" , but it shows as background check is in process and we will send you a message if we need more information.

Just got a second ghost update. Someone is working on my file!! :D

Switched back to:
  • We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
Strange though, I can't view my status on ECAS.
Yay! Great to see those updates going. :)

Were you able to see your status on ECAS after AOR? I can't.
Ok, so this is a question I had too. I can only see my case and case updates on the MYCIC online account. This has been the case since I linked my application after the AOR.

My case does not appear on the Client Application Status Tool (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-status.html), I assume this is what is referred to as ECAS.

What about others who used the online PR portal to apply for their paper-based applications?

I am trying to link my application as requested by the email from CIC with my file number. I am a widower & while I listed my 2 children, I am the only applicant on the file (they are not accompanying as they are already in Canada)
I tried 5 times & now locked for 24 hours, these were my attempts:
UCI & File No, 1 Applicant, birthplace, Widowed
UCI & File No, 4 Applicants, passport, Widowed
UCI & Family name, 4 applicants, passport, Widowed
UCI & File No, 4 applicants, passport, Widowed
App No & Family name, capital family name, 1 applicant, passport, Widowed

Hello,
Do not worry, I tried linking the application as soon as I got the AOR and failed. I then waited a few hours before trying again and then succeeded. Try again tomorrow, and it should work.

I am very disturbed by the fact that the number of COPRs issued for non-EE PNP applicants has barely budged on the spreadsheet - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1U00ooiZO57vNqjpgsTvhciDdiffcozBk8os9T_zkXVg/edit#gid=0

We keep seeing more and more applicants, more and more AORs, but no decisions.

It's like they're issuing one COPR every 2-3 weeks... at this rate who is even going to get PR? I feel awful we ended up in this stream. No transparency, months in between AOR -> MR -> ADR - > PAL -> DM -> COPR. Does no-one at IRCC work at the non-EE station?

Meanwhile, someone's spouse who never set foot in Canada before has to send 1 form, show a couple of photos, and gets PR in 4 months no problems.
3 days away from the beginning of my 19th mo, which is about 4 mo after AOR, and 3 mo after ADR lol I'm now so pessimistically thinking that the writ of mandamus is my last and only resort to deal with those bureaucrats...and I'm "happy" to see the processing time has gone down to 22 mo when I can finally request the writ of mandamus, hopefully lol
