Hi, My mother arrived in Canada on Super visa on May 22, 2022. Her passport has stamp showing arrival date of May 22. Does not have any other stamp.
Does she have to to exit Canada after six months and for how long the exit from Canada should be?. I am thinking of visiting USA in the morning and come back in the evening. Can someone please let me know if this works. She has USA visa.

The super visa is a multi-entry visa that provides multiple entries for a period up to 10 years. The key difference is that the super visa allows an individual to stay for up to 5 years at a time in Canada, while a 10-year multiple entry visa would only have a status period for each entry of six months only.

They entered before the 5 year stay was announced so believe they are only on a 2 year stay. To try to extend a stay do not try to leave and reenter via the US. Many more people end up being refused entry that way. If your parent entered on a supervisa they have a 2 year stay based on the date they entered. After the 2 year stay if they would like to try to extend their visit they should apply online for an extension.

you could be right ,but my question is the following :

increasing the length of stay for super visa holders to 5 years per entry into Canada , shouldn't deprive the people that are in the country from benefiting from it.and my confusion is based on the law that follows
current Super Visa holders will now be able to stay in Canada for up to seven consecutive years.( as if the 3 years are automatically granted in addition to the two years extension that you can apply for ... but again you could be right

Guys, I applied for mothers super visa on 13th Aug, 2022 but it got rejected the first time stating they are not satisfied by reasoning she will return back to Canada. I have reapplied on November 2nd, and waiting for any further updates. Is anyone sailing in the same boat?
