Hi - I applied for my tourist visa extension on the 4th of September and have not heard back from IRCC. It has passed the 15-day processing time as mentioned on the website. What do you recommend - should I wait for my visa? or should I reapply just so my visa application is more recent?

I have a flight on 2nd December to India and am not sure what to do.

An extension is not a TRV. An extension allows you to stay in Canada with correct status as a visitor. You need a TRV to enter Canada. Did you apply for a TRV or to extend your TRV to remain in Canada.

You applied for an extension to stay in Canada. You need a TRV to leave and enter Canada. Do you have a valid TRV?

I am a student at Ivey - I have a valid study permit till 31st March next year. My stamp on the passport expired on 30th September this year. Did I apply for the wrong visa? I don't have a valid TRV. Doesnt "extend my stay" mean I want to update my TRV

No extend your stay means you are in Canada, and want to remain here. If you want to leave Canada and re-enter you need a valid TRV.
