Hey there! We have a similar timeline. My application is May 8, Biometrics May 12, medical updated 29 June with no updates whatsoever for my husband (OWP). Today is exactly 12 weeks since the date of the biometrics.

I would say your processing time starts from May 11 since only biometrics is not included in the processing time. Any additional documents requests are within the processing time and the fact that the IRCC had asked for your CAQ means that they were processing your file around that time. What has happened since then, who knows? A million dollar question these days.

Which country did you apply from? SDS?
Hello!
thanks for your reply.
I applied from Iran. I just submitted a webform to attract their attention. It's become a very complex situation now because I don't know wether I can put everything together in the time that I will have until the beginning of my classes. And this is only If I receive my visa soon! I'm starting to consider deferring. How about you? Where did you apply from?

No worries, you're welcome! The geography on this forum is getting wider, which is a great sign! You're the first person I'm seeing here from Iran. My husband and I applied from China. I've already deferred the start of my program to Winter 2023 because even with a positive reply from the IRCC, the tickets are insanely expensive, let alone the number of flights from China now is very low. Basically, there are no tickets up to October, so it's not even a choice really.

Hello All!
I submitted my application for a study permit on May 11th. Since I had already given my biometrics a couple of years before when I applied for a visitor visa, I didn't need to give biometrics again. I Got asked to upload my CAQ and did so on June 8th. Does the processing time for my application begin from May 11th or June 8th? I'm still waiting for a decision to be made and today it has been 12 weeks! Has anyone with the same submission date received a decision?

Applied on: 11 May 2022
Biometrics: Already given previously
Medical examination: no need
CAQ added to application: 8 June 2022
No news.......
So you applied on May 11 for a Quebec university which required a CAQ? Process would not start until CAQ is received. Assume you have not started eligibility review (open your file by VO to review). Was your TRV refused? If so you need to state that.

Make sure you update your new LOA from your College / University via webform so they take it into consideration when they issue your Visa and your Letter of Introduction!

If you could update the application type(SDS/NON), also throw some light on what did you do differently to overcome the rejection.

Also, if you could tell from where did you apply? Those processing times are crazy fast!

Only SDS and full year fee and GIC and its all done. After refusal,SOP changed to convince visa officer that applicabt will return back after studies.

Congratulations! :) That's an encouraging news for everyone here! What is your program of studies (Bachelor, Masters, PhD) and how many years is it?
