Inland Study Permit Delay – Applied May 10, Still Waiting (IRCC)

Hi everyone,
I applied for a study permit from inside Canada on May 10, 2025. At that time, the IRCC processing time was showing 5 weeks. Now it's increased to 14 weeks, but I haven’t received any update at all.

Here’s my situation:

  • Applied: May 10
  • Upfront medical submitted with the application
  • Biometrics were already completed earlier
  • IRCC account still shows Submitted (no updates, no ghost updates)
  • I'm applying for a new study permit (not an extension)
  • Applied via GCKey
I’m starting to get really anxious since some others who applied later are getting decisions, and I’m worried about how long this might go.

Anyone else in the same timeline or similar inland case?
Is it worth submitting a webform now, or should I wait a bit longer?
Also, if anyone got an update recently after May applications, please share!

Thanks in advance
Hi
Please did you get any updates from ircc yet ?

Hi any updates on your application

Hello

I accidentally posted in the wrong forum, but please help me out.

My sister recently got refused.

The reason they gave:

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph R216(1)(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/section-216.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:
• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.
• Pursuant to paragraph 220(a) of the IRPR, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the tuition fees for the course or program of studies that you intend to pursue.
• Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: your qualifications, previous studies, missing mark sheets, academic record, level of establishment/available financial resources, language abilities, or your future prospects and plans

In her application her tuition fee was $29,500, she gave deposit of $2000 and in total showed proof of fund of $50,000, she also showed monthly income from Business and Rent.

Her class start on September 2025. I mean if she will want to catch the September session, she has to apply now.

But her funding won't be only increased 3000 more, what should we do in this situation, should we reapply with more money, should we wait , should we defer the course till January?

And how should we reapply and is it common the reasoning of the rejection.

Thanks for answering in advance.
Did you reapply, and have you received any response yet?
