Hi all, just a quick note… here is my timeline (not sure the spreadsheet is being updated anymore). Both my wife and I completed the test on Sunday and within 1-2 days it was changed to Complete.

Application Received: May 11, 2020
AOR: Sept 23, 2020
In-Process: Dec 8, 2020
BG Completed: Feb 11, 2021

Writ of Mandamus registered: July 13, 2022
Test Invite: July 20, 2022
Test Taken: July 24, 2022
Test changed to Completed: July 25, 2022

Based on your experience, how long would it take to have Language, Prohibition and Physical Presence updated to complete?

I've seen people go from test completed to DM within days! If the fire you lit under IRCC with the writ of mandamus is still burning, you might move to DM and oath within a couple of weeks. But if they decide to ignore you until you take the next legal step, uh you might be waiting months if not years. Please keep us posted. I am very curious about the effectiveness of taking legal action against IRCC. I think it's really unconscionable for them to be processing many of the recent applications within 6 months while putting many of the other old ones on the back burner for years. If they are so backlogged, they ought to increase processing time for everyone but keep it consistent so that we're not left hanging and unable to plan our lives for years.

Thank you @trumprefugee ! Greatly appreciate your insights. I have reached out to my lawyer to confirm what could be possible retaliatory actions that could happen and alternative steps to be taken, if any. Waiting to hear back from her.

I have seen a correspondence from IRCC to the court we received in which basically they indicate they cannot be instructed as no decision has been made at this point - and honestly the mandamus was not on expecting a decision but rather get this process some traction. At least it seems to have worked as far as getting us the test and status change in the tracker. In principle unless instructed by DOJ there would be no reason to withdraw the litigation until we get DM and oath. Certainly will keep you posted. Thanks again.

OMG! More great news, i finally got invited to take the test online between Aug 2-22.

I am so happy about this!!!

BTW is the test hard?

2 years for a goddamn test...
It's so easy. Just read the book at least twice and do some practice tests.

WOW, I really do wonder is this a coincidence/fluke or is it because of the mandamus. Either way BEST OF LUCK to you - here is hoping you do well and have better luck then me in getting your oath in a timely manner. I did my test in Oct 21 and no oath yet...... let us know how you get on!!!! Fingers crossed for you!
It's because of Mandamus. Because, it looks good on IRCC part to show that they are actively working on your case, before they submit their response to a federal court.

I was wondering something! Although I am a May 2020 applicant, the application was 'filed' in September 2020. Does this mean that I am not 27 months in the process? Does the date start when they file it or when it is delivered? Thanks!

I did my test and passed. How long does IRCC take to change it to "Completed"?

I am going out of the country for 2 months Sept & Oct. Lets see what happens....

HI @Orlaith, same thing for me. My application also shows the Sept 2020 date, but as per IRCC site, they start processing it when application is received in Sydney, NS which in our cases was May. In the CAS page for me it shows, received in May, filed in

For me and my wife it was 2 days from finishing the test to having it showing as complete in the tracker.

Is anyone updating the google sheet for 2020 apps?

@andrem so I did my test in October 2021, I calculate I am (we are) total months @27 now. I have written to them many times in the last few weeks - but nothing in response. I will try to write again next week. Good luck at your interview on Aug 8.
