Have you tried calling this number? 18445339201

I was able to call this number mid-day. There were 12 people ahead of me and the wait time wasn't that long. It was the only number that worked for me.
Do they allow to call this number in place of 6868 to know the status? Are they ok if we call on this number to inquire the status of application or any related help?

They kick up a fuss and ask you for 'survey purposes' (lol) how you got hold of the number because they're trying to expunge it from the internet as much as possible. As it was explained to me (via a small lecture, though they ultimately helped me), that number was meant for use of Guarantors to call up Passport office in the event that they missed their verification call and they aren't really equipped with the agents to drink from the firehose that is all passport applicants trying to find their status.

Having said that though - you do you, decide if the means justify the ends. :)

We are also travelling July 30th and applied for a new born passport on May 20th. It was sent to printer today and was told would arrive this week. I got it expidited by contacting my local MP.

As of today, you are eligible for a transfer.

You need to keep calling...try at lunch time...I had lots of luck everytime I called around 1230ish or so.
Thank you

Here's my timeline:

June 13: Passport delivered to Montreal office.
July 12: CC charged
July 19: emailed my PM to see what they can do since I want to travel at the end of the month

Might go to passport office tomorrow too

I would say email is the best bet - it depends heavily on how responsive the MP in your area is.

I was lucky that my MP would reply but I have seen others completely ignore any such requests.

Try calling in a few days if email does not work. In person may not be possible because they restrict in person appointments due to COVID. And yes, follow up.
In email which information we have to give about ourselves (the applicant) like Name, address, telephone, ... Do we have to provide IDs also/ What information the MP requires to start work on our request?

Hi ,

During your ceremony did you ask for urgent delivery of your citizenship certificate or not , one week to get the certificate seems to be fast just wondering if you requested any acceleration or not . Thanks
No. I didn't request anything. Processed in BC

I applied in person in early April 2022. I didn't provide a travel date, I called them last friday, and they told me that my passport is still under investigation.
More than 3 months, and they still did not process my application yet.
It seems that they don't give a sh*t about us, but they keep bringing more immigrants. What's the value to be Canadian, if new immigrants are more important than Canadians.

Very important to give a travel date in the forms (even if not traveling) so that they can try and get pressured and improve their services and provide passports on time.

Did you get passport yet?
Nope. No credit card charge either. I called for a transfer last week as I have travel on July 29, and they said the local office would call me on the 27 or the 28, but to also be prepared to expect that the transfer wont happen and that I wouldnt find out until those times have passed.

Why will the transfer not happen?
