Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

Ok I called 18445339201. Even though there were only 6 people ahead of me, I waited 1.5 hours- the last one hour i was basically listening to “there were no people ahead of you” but nobody picked up the phone.
I applied in person at service Canada in BC on April 29. I was told by the phone that my file is currently under examination. For what? He doesn’t know and just said everything looks fine to him. Passport Canada is literally a joke.

Can we call this number and get information about the status of our applications?

CC Charged: April 26
Passport Received: July 7
Travel date on application was blank

Still waiting for my wife's passport. We sent our applications together on same day.
P.S - Citizenship certificate came in the same envelope.

Congrats. Did they call your guarantor and refrences. And also did they deliver it to you in person with signature or in the mailbox?

No call to guarantor or references. They deliver in person on your doorstep.

Finally got through the 6868 number after hundreds of attempts. called at 315pm ET, 120+ people ahead of me, waited 30+minutes and got connected to an agent. I applied on May 17 at a Service Canada centre (not passport office), the receipt has an estimate mail out date of June 18. The agent confirmed the file was received on May 17 and it is under examination. He said current processing time is 11 weeks, so I can expect to receive the passport in early August. Fingers crossed.

So I just called the 9201 number. about 2.5 hours I managed to speak to someone.

I gave him all the details of my son's application submitted 9 weeks ago on may 4. He said based on the tracking number he can confirm it was received but that there is no information in his system meaning they have not even opened the package yet. Recommended I call back at the beginning of August if I haven't heard anything.

Also recommended making a hotel reservation in the US for 2 weeks from now and then calling back to request a transfer. I may actually do that, but I've heard that transfer requests don't often go through.

Been trying to call since 8:29AM EST but cant even get to the automated Welcome msg. All I get is "All circuits are busy, please try your call again later".
I have a feeling their phone lines might be down because of Rogers global outage, I dont have internet since morning today either.

This is literally what the guy on the phone told me yesterday. Said to book a hotel in Seattle within 2 weeks and then call and request a transfer. If you cant get through on the phones, to go into your local office and request the transfer, but to also be prepared to bring a new application with all supporting information, including original documents and photos in case they have to submit a new one because they cant find your file. officer told me yesterday they havent even got my sons information in their system despite it being 9 weeks since received.

Called Passport Canada on 9201 number to transfer the file to Mississauga on 6th July, the agent said file transferred but today my credit card got charged at VARENNES, don’t know if transfer request was accepted or not?
