Hey all, is it mandatory to type and print the form? I have handwritten all my info in the passport application. I hope filled up forms are allowed? Thank you !!

So we just need to show them our original ID and citizenship certificate right? They aren't going to keep our originals and they don't need copies?

I applied in April but from the UK, been 10 weeks and no news yet. I understand that if people stand in a queue they can get there's quicker HOWEVER for those that have now been waiting 8/9/10 weeks+ surely they should be made as a priority having waited patiently on the side lines but it appears that with the constant queues at the relevant passport/service centres....their requests are reaching the top of the pile and the rest are simply left to sit and wait.
An unacceptable way of doing things and I'd understand if we hadn't have been reasonable from a waiting timeframe but it's an absolute joke!
No way of tracking from outside of Canada also and again another unbelievable flaw in the whole process, give me something that I can log onto even if it says it's still at stage 1 or 2 or the process....however long the process may be.
So I re-emailed the High Commission again that's based in London (UK), I've no been told my application was sent to Canada LAST FRIDAY.....So they've sat on it for 10 weeks and then sent it off! Absolutely ridiculous! I've also been told that it should now take not longer than 2 weeks.

I also asked whether before the forms were sent off, had they been checked over along with my picture to make sure at least the pictures and forms were all fit for purpose but again no answer in respect of that. Honestly like I know they can't tell me at what step it's at but at least answer the basic questions, I understand that they're under pressure but the system totally falls down when when COMMUNICATION is non existent or very minimal.

Hi everyone! If my travel is less than 45 days and l apply for passport with proof of travel, will I get my passport in time for me to apply for entry visa to India (which takes 7 to 10 business days)? If not, how can I plan this ? Any suggestions ? Anyone who went through this process? Highly appreciate. Thanks !

When I did recently, it was literally two weeks from time of submission to pick-up day. So in my view if you do the option to pick-up, you'll have plenty of time. (Note when I submitted it was only 25 days, but that's been changed I see)

(You probably would if receiving passport by mail too but I've no experience with that, and if you want to be sure and worry less, pick-up addresses that).

I applied in person in Kitchener yesterday (I travel at the end of august so about 40ish business days but no one wanted to see the actual proof for it). My passport is supposed to be ready July 13th.
Now the other part: my friend went to the Mississauga office to apply and was redirected to another office. Apparently, now Mississauga and Toronto offices process only urgent applications for people who travel within 3 days.
But if someone else could also confirm the same, please do.

Applied in Ottawa yesterday with proof of travel for July 15th and passport will be ready for in person standard pick-up ($20 fee) for July 13th.

I applied in person at Service Canada, Mississauga on April 7th 2022 without any expedited requests as I don't have any travel plans. But, I didn't get back anything yet, it's almost 3 months now. Should I contact them or wait patiently., Please advise.

Really it depends whether you need to travel anytime soon.

Note, though, service canada-submitted apps are effectively just mailed by service canada to the 'central' passport office. So the timeline you face is really not that of an in-person app but those of apps mailed in. YOu might wish to check that thread to compare.

I applied for my first passport at SC location at North York on 04/19 with no travel date at the time. Expected mail out date was 05/17 and ETA was 05/25.

Here is my follow up history-
05/26 - In Examination
06/14 - In Examination
06/21 - In Examination. Since I have travel coming up on 07/02 so requested transfer to local office. I was advised that I will get a call from the Passport office
06/28 - No decision yet. Agent asked to keep patience.
06/29 - No calls recv still. I have a flight booked for 07/02 and 07/01 is Canada day so only tomorrow left in between.

Should I cancel my ticket then?
