child's height in Application for Canadian Citizenship: Minors – Subsection 5(1)

Hello,

I am completing this form for my son to apply for his Canadian citizenship.

Section 5 seems to be geared towards listing out information from his Confirmation of Permanent Residence document which was filled out by a Canadian border guard when my son became a permanent resident a in 2020. It asks for his height. Am I supposed to put:

- his height at the time he became a permanent resident which is shown on his Confirmation of Permanent Residence document?; OR
- his current height, which, as he is a growing boy, is about 20 centimetres more than in 2020.

It does not seem that there is clear guidance on the IRCC website. In the guidance it simply says "Indicate your height (how tall you are), either in centimetres or feet/inches". As this instruction is in the present tense and does not include a statement like "...height at the time you became a permanent resident", I've taken it to mean his current height now.

Does anybody know for sure what height I supposed put? His current height or the height at the time he became a permanent resident.?

No need to second guess the answer you got or overthink things. You have to provide up to date answers to every single question, and that obviously includes height.

With respect, I'm just asking a simple question, how does armoured know? Have they themselves complete a successful Canadian citizenship application with putting current height?

You’re definitely overthinking this.

What good does outdated height info do in any kind of application? Did the question ask for height at the time of PR? it did not.

common sense also applies when IRCC considers that a minor’s height is going to change.

there are definitely questions you must not misrepresent, but height and eye color are the least of their worries.

Seriously, I basically refuse to answer this any further. It's bleeding obvious.

If one wants to waste anyone's time any further, hire your own lawyer to answer and pay for the time you're wasting.

You could approach this problem a little differently.

1. Estimate the time your application will take from submission to completion.

2. Take the average height for your other family members at a similar age for the time taken in #1 and estimate the height of the minor based on that at the time of grant of citizenship.

You could approach this problem a little differently.

The elephant in the room here is the potential exposure of every applicant to charges of misrepresentation because they do not state acceptable measurement error - I mean, 'height', sure, but plus or minus how many mms? Or age - how do I know what time zone they are assuming?

Don't even get me started with this eye colour stuff - how do I know what IRCC's reference 'blue' is? Do they use a pantone reference, or some Adobe colourspace?
