Hello,
We sent our application so I could sponsor my wife and it was received by immigration Canada on March 21st. We applied for outbound sponsorship, and the processing time was increased on May 11 (almost 2 months after we applied) from 12 months to 22 months.
We received a confirmation of application reception on May 31st. Are we affected by this decision to increase processing time? or do we still fall in the 12 months bracket since we applied way before that decision was made to increase processing time?
After waiting over 8 months for her visa (June 2021 to February 2022), it was rejected. This is an extremely difficult time for me and my wife as we feel like we were forcibly separated by immigration Canada. We really hope that we are not affected by this decision to increase processing time!! I am a Canadian citizen, born here, McGill University graduate, and I work at a reputable firm in Montreal. I don't understand how we can't be together
