November 2021 - Citizenship applications

Interestingly, it would seems all the personnels that IRCC allegedly hired are elbowing each other at the CPC Sydney to process applications as fast as they come in (AOR that used to take several months now takes 10-15 days on average. heck there is an applicant that even got AOR in 7 days, yes your read that correctly) while over at the other IRCC citizenship offfices, it seems they just can't be bothered.

Also, why is it that other client-facing government agencies have opened back up and servicing clients in person but somehow IRCC is allowed to dilly dally as the please whilst using the now untenable COVID excuse? Something has got to give.

dude… Ive been waiting for my PR card for14 months right now… like, everything is back logged. Sydney, with all the new online system is literally doing everything online until review of the file happens.

you should have seen how it was for PR processing back in 2010, you would shat a brick, 6 months for AOR, nothing on paper, no online system,just GSCM notes… if youre already going for citizenship just chill and enjoy the ride. Lol

Hi guys,
I don't see any reason to stress, because in the sheet that is available for us I don't see anybody getting their oath letter from (September, October, November, December 2021 Applicants) except one (unique) case from September 2021. There are only 3 applicants getting their oath letter because they applied as minors or as urgent processing.
Even on the applicants list from July and August 2021. I don't really see a significant number of cases receiving the oath letter.
I can tell that the closest month from the past with a huge number of applicants receiving their oath letter is June 2021. So logically peoples from the following months July and August 2021 should receive their oath letters after.
So this is a short conclusion for people from November 2021 who spend their test and are waiting for an oath.
For peoples from November 2021 who haven't receive their Test Invite letter yet, you are still guys in a reasonable waiting time in my opinion, It has been 7 months we sent our applications and in general that's nothing in comparison to many cases that I heard of, many applicants had to wait for over 2 years to become canadian citizens especially those who applied during 2019 and 2020 and it's clearly shown on the sheets of these 2 years.
I think the only thing we can do for our mental health is to avoid calling these guys and let them do their work except in an extreme scenario where it's mandatory to call. The long delays is something familiar for IRCC even before the pandemic and of course it became worse since march 2020 but I can say that in the last 3-4 months they are working faster than before, form example the AOR for online applicants went from 3 months in average (for us) to 2-3 weeks for nowadays applicants, I also see a huge number of peoples who received their test invite in the last 3 weeks.
Last thing, the delays are also based on the nature of each application, how long the applicant stayed outside Canada (Background check). If the applicant shares the same first and last name with many individuals in the country. If the applicant immigrated from specific countries requiring further background check. It's also based on which office is treating the application, some are faster some are slower and it's also based on hundred of reasons that we don't know.

I believe it's their tactic to show that they are processing applications by just giving out AOR to reach the yearly target or so and let the files rot there for very long. They have 27 months to actually working on it.

I wonder how accurate the "2021 Citizenship Tracker" is from the standpoint of people who don't update their data once they get an invite for their Oath Ceremony or even test. How many of those applicants from previous months stop coming back on this forum and updating their data. I wish there was a way to remove inactive users from the spreadsheet so it's not affecting the data.

I agree with you, some people got their oath letter and just disappear from the forum but at least we still have a significative number of applicants who did receive their oath letter:
- 85 from March
- 73 from April
- 60 from May
- 25 from June
- 6 from July
- 5 from August
- 3 from September
- 0 from October
- 0 from November (Our month)
- 1 from December
I think these numbers make sense.

Exactly, I took the task to write people that are "waiting" for the Oath Letter... around 30 people (different months). They haven't had activity in months; I just got one answer to my message, and he is already a citizen; he updated his information. But also, @pedromw is right; we can have an idea. The spreadsheet is just a sample; there are almost 450,000 applicants out there.

The truth is that IRCC has BIG ISSUES with ALL the departments, 2,000,000 pending applications (different types), and Problems with passports (even before Covid, the average was 3M, now they have 1.2M, and they can't with the task), long lines in the airport (CBSA)... Something bad is happening.

@mohoozee is totally right; IRCC is still blaming Covid while basically everything is "back to normal" it seems that just the government is living in the past. I guess they took vacations during these last two years instead of working from home... as they "did."

I have a processing office close to my office, and at 4 pm, the office is EMPTY. I'm sure that they don't care, and they have a limited daily processing budget.

Again... IRCC has BIG, BIG, BIG PROBLEMS.

While you're right that the IRCC has issues, Passports and CBSA are not part of IRCC. This is a government wide issue.

Yes, and it looks that they will take a long time to fix it.

You are right about CBSA, this is a different entity: https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/menu-eng.html, nevertheless shares some information with IRCC.
